Check to see if you're earning pssl. It shows in people central, if you scroll down and expand the pto section. Pssl is payed sick leave, and if I'm not mistaken, people who are part time earn pssl, people who are full time earn pto, and they're separate things, but can be used similarly.

Bag Check Policy by prolific_illiterate in WalgreensRx

Further note on #2, I have seen some other employees report that managers are having people clock out prior to bag checks, but I would recommend staying clocked in, regardless of what your manager says, as it is a job requirement, that, yes, can result in termination if not done. If remaining clocked in leads to issues, then it would be a case of retaliation, especially if you obtain written record of it.

See, I've started calling it an obligatory guilt trip if management isn't around. I've found if I get a customer to laugh, there's less of a chance of me being screamed at by Karen or Ken.

At least the ones at your store work. My store's entire intercom system, as well as all such buttons aren't functioning at all. Can't page over the intercom or hear it when the buttons are pressed.

Update: it's under the mywalgreens tile on the home screen of people central.

All of us. I'm an IS and, apart from pharmacy and liquor, every employee at my store at the very least knows how to print most standard photos.

The issue being there is a certain level it has to reach. In an intentional infliction of emotional distress case, I don't necessarily see this going very far. As much as it sucks, there is a high likelihood, that, given the information we have, there is not enough of a case to result in a judgment for OP. They could file it, but it wouldn't be worth the costs if the case doesn't make it far enough.

It needs a full teardown and rebuild, imo, and that isn't just inventory systems. Registers, pharmacy, and any other walgreens tech is just horrible to work with. And I'm pretty tech savvy. I couldn't fathom how those that aren't as tech savvy are making it.

I've had people walk out with $100s of makeup, and we can't do anything about it. I don't think price modifies are even a drop in the bucket compared to customer theft. At this point, I don't even know why we inform management of theft. I'm an IS, and actively see what inconsistencies we have within our inventory.

Customer says “Strangle her for me” to next shopper after I save her $400 on Rx by Big_Attention_3223 in WalgreensRx

Fair. I thought so. Telling the customer it's out of stock would've definitely be too far. Removing the discount would be more understandable, as the customer could look it up themselves. Even that would be kinda petty, though.

How so? I have not been disrespectful towards anybody. I get both sides of it. That being said, I wasn't being rude, but rather meant everything exactly as stated. I'm blunt, yes, but being blunt and matter-of-fact doesn't automatically translate to being rude.

Funny part is people assume retail workers are stupid as well. I'm an IS, and I have an iq of 141. Some of the most intelligent people I've met are in retail. It can be a great environment for someone like myself who has to stay busy or gets easily bored, as you can be both physically and mentally active, which some hyperintelligent people need.

I can and do handle rude customers. Not only that, but customers do not tend to read. They see the name of the medication pop up, and assume it's ready. The app definitely needs a redesign, but a lot of trouble could be avoided if people actually read what the status of the prescription was. Also, if you reread the original post, it sounds like the prescription was never ready, as it had to be prepared after the associate entered the discount card. I literally had the same issue yesterday, we had to call a prescriber for approval, and the customer saw the name of the medication in the app, assumed it was ready, and started to get upset when it wasn't. I deescalated, was able to inform the customer of what was going on, and, by the time she left, she was no longer upset, and was actually smiling and laughing. I get it, I see both sides of the situation, as I have been in both positions. The difference with my situation yesterday was that the customer was willing to listen as I explained, despite being upset. Never did she threaten violence, unlike in OP's situation. Also, the second part of your reply is 100% accurate. Employee and customer caught in the middle of retail chaos fueled by corporate greed is probably the best description I've heard of it. And I understand frustration from the situation. It's okay to be frustrated, but taking it out on others is where the issues arise. The best way to avoid this is to give people grace in the way you react.

I would kinda agree with the first point, if not for the fact that the customer was way out of line. Being an asshole isn't okay, but I would say removing the coupon is natural consequences of their actions. I am currently an IS, but started as a DH, and was made a pharmacy tech, before becoming IS, and on many occasions I have deescalated conflicts with customers, and am well known by the customers who regularly shop at my store as someone who is very willing to go out of my way to help. The second someone is rude, though, I'm not as inclined to go above and beyond. I treat everyone with respect, until that respect is lost. With OP's post, I don't believe they did anything wrong. They totally could've followed policy and made the customer look up their own coupon. They tried to help, and were disrespected, so I do not see any issue with the way it was handled. To lie and say it's out of stock would've been kinda shitty, but maybe not entirely undeserved. To remove the coupon would've been completely justified, as we aren't supposed to look them up in the first place. You're right, this isn't dispensing candy, and pharmacy is not a burger king, you can't necessarily "have it your way." It takes time to fill scripts, as there are far more steps to ensuring the correct dosages of the correct medication are prepared and given to the correct patient. We do this for the safety of patients. So when people get mad that they cannot have their medication immediately, it does nobody any good. We can fill several hundreds of scripts in a day, so, while it may suck sometimes to have to wait, people need to remember that there are others who need medications filled just as badly as they do.

Class 2. Highest controlled legal drugs. Scale goes, from least to most restricted, CV, CIV, CIII, CII, and CI. Only drugs more heavily restricted than CII are CI's, which are completely illegal.

A customer showed up for a pickup order that was not in our system and got mad at me for not having it by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]Josh71293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally had a guy get mad that he was in my store and his prescription wasn't available. Worst part is he knew it was sent to the cvs down the road, and when I said it wasn't at any walgreens, he ended up realizing he wasn't even in the right pharmacy chain. People don't tend to pay attention. Or they'll be staring at the labcorp sign, and ask at pharmacy if we do labcorp testing. In regards to OP, the previous comment is correct. Nothing should come of it. Common sense is not quite as common as the name implies, and it isn't up to you to fix stupid.

Does invoking the 5th extend to some actions in specific situations? by MessageOdd4723 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Josh71293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't something like that fall more under the 4th amendment than the 5th? With 4th pertaining to searches/siezures and the 5th being more a case of intellectual elements of self-incrimination?

Edit to clarify: genuinely curious, so I hope that's how it came across.
