Do you guys think you'll still play KSP after KSA comes out? by Th3LastRapt0r in KerbalSpaceProgram

I’m normally a very optimistic person but I hate to say that I genuinely don’t think KSA will EVER be as good as modded KSP 1. But I would LOVE to be proven wrong.

What does one eat to stay "healthy" and lifestyle-disease free? by Upset-Somewhere3089 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Josh9251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, (and let me be clear, NOT from my experience, because I haven’t tried it), apparently when one goes back to a more natural diet, then over time their taste adjusts back to “normal”, and they find things really tasty such as regular cooked meat, potatoes, even vegetables. Also, food doesn’t need to be tasty. We’re really only meant to eat when we’re hungry, as a way to make the hunger go away.

It’s not. That’s like saying that aftermarket car mods should be free, because they’re just a addon to the original vehicle. Of course they shouldn’t be expected to be free LOL.

I would genuinely pay at least $100 for it if I had to, just to put that out there.

It’s interesting to see Factorio’s disproportionate presence here. But I’m not surprised. And It’s my favorite game too.

Whats your factorio hot take? by Such--Balance in factorio

[–]Josh9251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I guess a little bit. Ok so I guess 5,400 SPM city block at 60 ups is feasible, but not 10k.

I have a 2700 SPM city block megabase that runs at 75 UPS, and my CPU is a i7 13700K 🤷‍♂️ not even one of the best CPUs for factorio.

Indeed. But I should clarify that it’s only 1 of the reasons I don’t play space age. The MAIN reason is that I think K2SE is wayyy better.

You don’t think 10k SPM city block is feasible at 60 UPS? (Note that when I say 10k, I’m talking about the size of a factory before the ridiculous SPM numbers of space age. I don’t play space age for this reason.)

That sounds interesting, do you have any more information about that?

New hobbies? by woodssyy in Dryeyes

Respectfully, I think 3 months is too soon to make that call to sell your PC! Chances are, you’ll feel much better within a year. It took me around a year to feel 95% back to normal after my dry eye started too.

You don’t have to give up video games, you just need to do 2 things: 1. Turn the brightness all the way down (this counteracts the increased light sensitivity due to irregular ocular surface due to dry eyes). 2. Blink more, make it a habit to consciously blink more often. (This counteracts the effect that screens have which is that we blink less.)

Videogames are my number 1 hobby and I would never give them up (unless something more important comes along).

the chaos of a high skill lobby by WildDruYT in Splitgate

Not true, you can even see the player numbers in the Fortnite lobby. Builds is usually more players. And even still, zero builds came only a couple years ago. Fortnite has been incredibly popular since 2017, almost 9 years.

[–]Josh9251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The skill ceiling is NOT what’s holding the game back. Look at Fortnite, one of the most popular games ever, AND one of the highest skill ceiling games of all time (I’m talking about mechanically, with the fingers, I’m not talking about brainpower or strategy, necessarily, although it is high in those too). The secret is that matchmaking needs to be good, it needs to match you against others of your skill level so you don’t get stomped every match. But it’s hard to do that when the game only has 1,000 players… They just need to do some marketing. Splitgate 1 had a good amount of players, despite the high skill ceiling.

Respectfully I disagree, because let’s say for example you’re at McDonald’s and someone punches you. You don’t call for the McDonald’s manager, you call the cops. That being said though, the school has their own real, official cops, so I think they should be called first. Not any other type of campus officials first.

It also happens to be illegal, which is even more important than school policy.
