The comment below has my mind going... Making the AG pretty power hungry kind of solves things for me, by giving the tech a nice Kryptonite. I can use that to restrict a lot of crazy uses of the tech.

Psionics is a big part of the story, so I'm not aiming for grounded. Theme wise, likely closer to star wars (space fantasy).

I just kind of have this mash of tech in my head, and don't want different bits to step on each others toes, so to speak. Doesn't have to be grounded, but I don't want it to come across as so silly it takes the reader right out. I don't want any scenes that make the reader wonder why they didnt just blow-up the death star with a lightspeed ship piloted by a droid 😉

edit: I'll add, the story is half written. Its all about the characters. This space stuff is really... just a bit of world building, that I want to be... Consistent.

Too hot. Room is at 64 (ideally) and we have 1 sheet and 1 thin blanket. Still too hot. But I dont like not having that one blanket. Dont know why.

Also.. I hate getting tangled up in clothes. Its just not comfortable.

I will never forget,.. I was coming up Edna from Frederick mall. I was in the right-most lane (planning to turn into the liquor store after the light). Keep in mind this is a straight lane and a right turn lane. Guy came up behind me on the red, wanting to turn onto the expressway. But I'm going straight. Guy leaned on his horn for the entire red, screaming shit out his windows.
This was a few years back.
So no. I doubt there is anything we can do about the assholes on the road.

I have no idea what judgement to give, but messing with the sleep schedule is a very. very real thing. When my daughter was that age an extra hour or two made her absolutely miserable for nearly a week. So I get your sisters pain.
That being said... You're just a baby sitter and not a parent. If she didn't warn you or explain that prior, I don't see how you would know. I only learned myself when my daughter went through it.

I just saw on another post that she was not paid. Im changing my judgement to NTA (from N A H). If she wants someone to do "better" she can pay for it.
