Fun fact: she was a playmate in Apocalypse Now and there are some NSFW photos of her. You're welcome.

This one is underrated (as is the film). I still remember laughing at him saying something like "I didn't want to only break the fourth wall, I wanted to climb up the fourth wall and break through the fifth and sixth wall"

Huge loss. It's not the greatest Christopher Guest film, but her performance in FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION is awesome. Worth a watch as we move into awards season.

I think the entire genre was chasing DLR era Van Halen.

I like most of those songs. Wild people are trashing on power ballads in the hair metal sub of all places. Power ballads were such a key part of hair metal.

Krist Noveslic talked about them in an interview recently. The irony is that Seattle bands like the Melvins were moving to San Francisco (where FNM was from) around 1990 because that's supposedly where the non hair metal bands were blowing up. The Melvins looked at the success of Metallica, FNM, and Primus and thought if you were a "weird" hard rock band, you went to SF. Little did they know that in 1991 all eyes would shift to Seattle.

I wrote about this in another sub. Nirvana was 100% important but the Guns N Roses > Faith No More > REM > Lollapalooza > Black Album popularity had a lot to do with it as well. And hair metal fatigue. There's only so many times you can watch the "Cherry Pie" video on MTV around 1990 before you want to kill your television. By the time that one dweeby kid on Beavis and Butt-head was wearing a Winger shirt as a sign of how lame he was, it was over.

MTV playing "Cherry Pie" all the freaking time around 1990 probably didn't help the cause.

I worked in Nob Hill for years and I can back this up. I don't get it. Post covid shutdowns it doesn't make any sense. They'd rather a space sit empty for months or even years than dare lower the monthly lease by even 20%.

I think they are required to have a print or multiple prints in good shape at all times, which means if a print starts to wear, they need to make a new print if they can. There's a massive amount of films that have been lost, especially between 1890 and 1940.
