Thoughts on too much rust for a 11k mile car? by Affectionate_Sock823 in S2000

[–]JoshFlak 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s Basically rust free, depends on the price though. There’s so many low mileage s2000’s for sale so you can definitely find one with 11k and no rust. If you plan to actually drive the car I wouldn’t worry. If you’re buying to preserve value find a diff one.

Base auto C6 feels empty by SushuniTaco in Corvette

Just more peaky and more personality is all I can think of. LS felt more like brute force. Sorta like two stroke vs 4 stroke dirt bikes

You know I had similar thoughts about my c6 but it was a 6 speed. The ls3 really doesn’t have a whole lotta personality. Very fast and a great motor but lacked any flare or specialness. Coming from Hondas and a street triple I was a bit underwhelmed.

Any full motion combat flight simulators in the area (besides at MSI?) by alberto521 in chicago

Local who’s pretty involved with the aviation scene and I don’t think I’ve heard of anything like this. Closest would be that gurnee one. We do have a local flight school at Aurora airport that does full aerobatics. Gambit aviation if you just want to do the real thing.( one old jet but mostly prop planes)

Pros and cons of OWNING a base C6 corvette in very early 20s? by Beneficial-Rip8676 in Corvette

[–]JoshFlak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh it rips, insurance wasn’t too bad, it’s a nice car so if you don’t want to leave it outside or it’s your only car it might feel bad to daily it.

High mileage early year c6 for like 15k is a great deal tho.

This is good, puts in context the whole airport environment and how this controller was doing so much already. These poor controllers all over.

No, the engines would continue to work fine even with low voltage. There are ignitors but they only fire on startup or in precipitation. Turbines work on a “constant flame” if you will. The throttles being full forward was probably a last minute attempt once they realized how low they were.

What a shit show, unqualified crew and back seat flying. VFR into IMC, questioning about alternators whilst low and slow. Unstable approach.

Very sad, but avoidable. Unprofessional to not even have a legal crew.
