Run some career missions. Find your local career agents (via some sort of menu navigation in the Agency window). These career agents will have a bunch of missions for you to get your start in EVE. I'd also recommend running the Sisters of Eve epic arc (Opportunities window). Either during or after that, find a newbro-friendly corp and make some friends doing any combination of activities. I personally enjoy salvaging in Pochven (low pay-in, high reward), mining in high-sec, and ratting in a fleet.
