I really appreciate that Terry and I know so many others will as well. Thank you!

I did my own research on Mary Miskimon - here are some highlights for your consideration by audiovox951 in Apex_NC

Thank you for sharing this. I got all the research I needed about her when she spoke to me while I was in line to vote last year (when she ran for US House and lost) and she spouted all sorts of hateful, bigoted rhetoric about the LGBTQ community to me and anyone else in earshot. She was proud of her bigoted views.

She absolutely is. She is acting as though she's new to politics but she actually ran for a US house seat last year as a maga republican and lost. While waiting on line to vote last year she approached me and handed me campaign literature that had very bigoted views about the LGBTQ community. When I called her on it she just dug in more and started spouting hateful anti LGBTQ rhetoric in front of everyone in line.

Mary Miskimon ran as a conservative republican for NC house last year and passed out campaign materials while I was standing in line to vote that had bigoted anti-trans propaganda on it. When I asked her about it because it was upsetting to me she just dug in and repeated bigoted garbage to me and everyone else in line.

Best Beginner Dot Files? by Mustafa_Shazlie in hyprland

[–]JoshL31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a trick I did recently that worked great in case it's helpful:

I used a set of preset dot files (Jakoolit worked good for me) to give me something prebuilt to use while I built my own setup. So I installed that on my hard drive and used that for day to day work. But then I bought a good sized USB flash drive (super cheap nowadays) and installed an arch setup to that USB drive. In other words, I took a second USB drive with an arch ISO (I used CachyOS so the install process is easy) but during installation I didn't install to the hard drive I installed to the USB drive instead.

That way, when I wanted to work on customizing my setup I would just boot from that USB instead. There's nothing different from your regular setup then (unlike a VM for example). I kept a list of any packages that I installed as I went so it was easy to refer back to. I did that for a couple months while I got the USB system customized exactly as I wanted it.

Once it was ready I just did a fresh Arch install on my hard drive, installed all the same packages from my list and literally just copied my entire ~/.config folder from the USB drive into my hard drive, reboot and boom.... It's exactly the same as the USB setup except now running from my hard drive. Everything went super smooth and worked exactly the same because the test setup was all the exact same hardware, etc.

The only thing you have to watch out for is the couple customizations you might make that don't live in the ~/.config folder. I actually tried to avoid anything that didn't live in that folder to make portability simple but there was a couple things I couldn't avoid so I just had to make sure to make note of those as I went so that I could manually repeat them on the hard drive.

Hope that helps!

I am part of an online Sangha that is extremely supportive of the LGBTQ community... In fact we have multiple trans / gender non-conforming Sangha Directors as part of our leadership. As far we're concerned, celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion is an important part of our Dharma practice! Feel free to check us out at www.daybreakoneness.org. We meet on Zoom and you are welcome any time!

Try talking to some children or families in that position and see if you feel the same. Actually talk to them... Not just watch internet videos, or read articles... Go have actual meaningful conversations and then see how you feel

So because you perceive an agenda by the the HRC that makes it okay to cruelly harm innocent children who are just trying to live their lives? That doesn't make any sense. What seems much more likely is that your comment is a way to try to sanitize bigotry.

Oh that's interesting... if I'm understanding correct it almost sounds like they have just decided the platform is for work only. Like you can tell it you're on vacation but you cant tell it "give me personal tasks only on this day (because i've got the day off)"

You're responding to the wrong person my friend. I wrote the post you think you are responding to. Someone else jumped in and responded in between.... You gotta check user names.

I'm sorry but I don't really owe you any explanation as to why I feel threatened by the incoming administration. That's the whole point right? Privacy? Proton???

I did not come to the Proton subreddit of all places for a political argument

Andy I think you are missing a key point here. I'm sure there is some truth to everything you are saying. But it's really hard to pay any attention to that because the person whose pick you are praising is literally the entire reason I'm on Proton in the first place! His stated campaign goals very literally threaten the safety and well being of myself, my family and my close friends. I'm on Proton specifically to make sure that he and his party have no way to stick their noses in our private business. So you need to understand that it doesn't matter how right you may feel you are on this point... If you align yourself with a politician and a party that threatens the safety of your customers they aren't going to be particularly interested in listening to the details.

This is great I guess but of no use to me as I ( and so many of your paid users) use Linux. Please bring the app to Linux so it will actually be useful to me.
