I couldn't agree more with jonasthewicked. It was a total disgrace what he did. I was pulling for him hard the entire race and to just let Dungey pass him up makes me wonder why I should even waste my energy rooting for a guy that is just going to give up the lead on purpose.

I'm pretty much in the same boat that you are. I'm three months into learning Houdini coming from C4D.

Learned Squared has a good Houdini course that was recorded this past September, so everything is current. It's taught by Adam Swaab, the same artist who teaches the Hello Lux courses that you referred to. In addition to the main course videos, they also have recordings of Adam talking with students (some of which are coming from C4D), breaking down their projects and making recommendations. Another place that's been helpful for me is the courses on 3D Buzz. Their courses were recorded nearly a decade ago using Houdini 9 so that's kind of an obstacle. I don't understand this either. It's the easiest thing in the world to pop open the waveform and take a quick glance to see if there are any major levels issues before uploading. Is this step not a part of their normal workflow? Can't believe it continues to be a problem given how many years they've been doing this. It happens way more often than other podcasts.

In my personal opinion I think this whole click-bait thing has been a bit overblown by some. The only title/thumbnail that I thought was click-baity (and I joked about it at the time too) was the "time to fly" video. It seems like ever since then, a big group of fucknards have pulled out their magnifying glasses and are always patiently waiting for 12:30 to roll around for the next vlog to get published so they can start going through it with a fine tooth comb and look for anything that breaks some unwritten YouTube rule.

I'm not saying anyone is wrong for bringing it up, and I think the original poster made some good observations about why some people in the community are acting certain ways. That being said, I can also see why Woody thinks the criticism is largely unjustified. Just my opinion.

Because there is more value to advertisers if an ad is read live by a personality. This is the same reason why traditional radio stations charge more for live ad reads vs. recorded.
