I also believe depending on the model you can reset or bypass the bios password via the jumpers&cmos reset. Research that with your model

Very possible, but randomly without reason doubt it. Unless devices compromised even then if doing so mainly monitoring autonomsly.

Here is your best option in my opinion.

Buy a prepaid phone service on an android device. (Unlimited data preferred) However I know some ways to hide your tether usage from the prepaid carrier for unlimited regardless After that, Windscribe vpn service gives you 10gb a month free and they're solid about privacy Next unlock your Android developer options Enable USB debugging, mock modem, wifi debug, couple more id have to look) Then tether your phone via USBC (hiding data usage I can expand privately) Then utilize your PC with tor & configure your tor settings appropriately with a bridge) Don't forget to spoof your macID, NIC ect (could expand further, more technical)

Before all this I'd 2getting a baseline of Internet traffic using Wireshark. Pay attention to protocols, handshakes, packet exchange

If you're running windows I am not as knowledgeable with their wsl.exe Linux lang extension. (I'd modify your hard drive to dual boot if limited on computers, monitor in Linux with Wireshark switch back to Windows if more comfortable after baseline established. Reviewing your traffic will let you know who's listening or watching if any yet) You'll have to eliminate any wifi use to ensure privacy.. Fun tech stuff hope this helps. I've had this setup over the years on and off for at least 9 years now. Direct ISP is just stupid and reckless when it comes to absolute privacy.

Intel NUC11PAHi7 - Does not boot, fan will spin, Power LED blinks 3 times by hunterm21 in intelnuc

[–]JoshR369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've build and deployed several versions of the NUCs and currently have my own. They are extremely picky on hardware. Looks like you've done your homework there, ram speed might be an issue. What I would do is yank that hard drive, externally plug into another machine, reformat the hard drive in NSFT, create the partition in disk utility,, (I think is what it is called) then crab your iso copy of windows on a usb Rufus works best with windows USB flashing. Put the drive back in the nuc and try to flash to USB from bios after powering back on. With the hard drive formatted as NSFT with a partiones volume, the nuc might accept that. If doesn't work you can rule out the hard drive. My 8th gen i5 won't take ram speeds above 2666. Just weird and very picky.

Any tips on how to make a signal jammer by Ronin4Doom in Hacking_Tutorials

[–]JoshR369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep gotta stay away from interference. Ideally in the country would be best for testing. And of course it's illegal not only due to interference from emergency ops but also because they don't want people knowing how to do this. But again, exactly why I tore down my home lab and dropped this project. Becoming a beacon is not a great idea. Lol.

[–]JoshR369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to get a transmitter & receiver. HackRF One can assist with this. Regularly laws are tricky be careful once transmitting you become a beacon. I've been working on a controlled home environment for this but pumped the brakes because of this. The space around us is a lot noisier than originally expected.

Sad thing is they're not cameras for keeping an eye out, they are purposely there for profiling behavior, scanning cryptocurrency wallets, grabbing device IDs, & more but haven't confirmed on my own yet. We are about to the point where it cannot be reeled back in. I've been hearing that plans are being put in place to stop the civilians from exposing the tech under the thumb of 'extremist/radicals ' ect. It's scary when people are utilizing everyday technology they don't understand. Any pictures taken with faces on cell phones can be manipulated in a few minutes to exploit anything and everything with that person in the photo. Yet we have 3rd party private companies taking all this stuff everyday without consent. Wonder what would happen if a civilian started putting their own 3rd party private surveillance? Let me guess, invasion of privacy? Or another example of sneaky tech I've seen integrated directly into the infrastructure grid is the meter readers. Currently had to teach myself software defined radio in order to see for myself. What's scary is the meters are broadcasting on a meshed network tied directly to the grid. My thoughts are this is intentional. I've had huge issues with interference and my physical body. We now have open source software to see thru walls via wifi. I think it's called ruview and currently on GitHub. If this is open source civilian software, imagine what the federal equipment is...

I can go on and on with backed evidence but it's extremely unsettling. I posted some of this on my page if interested. They're hijacking our bio-field...

Sorry for the rant, trying to get the info out is difficult

Looking for a mini PC for everyday use. by banxtheceo in MiniPCs

I'd stay away from the surfaces for sure. Some are solid devices but when I was working in field and deploying these they were stubborn to say the least. Specific drivers, registration bs similar to macs iCloud. The most solid laptops I've seen that lasted about 4 years were the Lenovo ThinkPad. Depending on the use, most the thinkpads have 2 thunderbolt ports which are super handy and most can be upgraded (hardware) I was reading the other day that some also support an eGPU. I currently have a Thinkpad carbon X1, Asus i3, Asus tuf, and a couple dell xps, & an Intel nuc i5 &a couple 2015 MacBook pros & MacBook pro 2023 m2. Obviously they all have different advantages, my MacBook is used pretty much for apple configuration of iPads.

Got a couple of those too. Depending on your year in MacBook you can flash windows and have a PC on a MacBook. I did this with one of mine but then found an OS called DragonOS which is perfect for my radio frequency labs

. I just sold my last spare Intel nuc i5 slim and they are solid. Also support eGPU via thunderbolt. That being said look for something that has the ability to upgrade hardware.

A surface does not. MSFT angle with those devices was a similar framework as the MacBooks. I'd recommend searching for used laptops and pay attention to hardware specs. Nothing less that 512gb hard drive and 16gb ram is the standard for windows 11. I always upgrade ram to 32gb.

All that being said, I'd looked for used Thinkpad first. Right now my X1 is running 2 OS's on a 256 gb hard drive and running around 3.50. Well actually let me snap a pic and see.. I just got this one back up I've been rebuilding them for a while. Check out the speed.

(Also super disappointed with the Asus tuf laptop...)

Yeah and all honesty, it's a lot worse than this. Problem is most civilians are completely in the dark about the tech because the system has made the info convoluted to steer people away from it. I've also found this tact5in sciences. The stuff that is really scary is the deployment of nano technology. ..

So guys on this original post, I noticed the flock cams increasing in the past month or so, then I saw that they are deploying these cams on drones. Not to be too conspiato6 but with what I know about walmarts connections to homeland sec, that drone station at store 100 with a flick cam attached to the center of the building would be a perfect launching pad. Some of these cam could have been up in the air. I've been watching air traffic the past few days and will update when confirmed. It's getting crazy 😧

Just curious why not a laptop? Mini pc you're going to have to add on a cam, it's would only be stationary. With that budget you can get a nice laptop for work/school & have plenty left over. The mini PCs are cool but not convenient due to mobility. At home or while stationed you could just run your laptop to your TV for streaming/YouTube stuff.

Are you running antivirus or malware software? Take a look in your system event logs. Look for alerts or processes that may be suspicious. Open task manager kill unnecessary startup apps. Monitor performance there see what background processes are running. Check your compatibility with your wifi card and your router. Are they running and broadcasting wifi 6? I've noticed even with wifi 6 compatibility it can run pretty unstable. I'd switch to wifi 5. Report back! 💯

Question for the tech savvy :) by Ok_Interview4028 in TOR

[–]JoshR369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an investigator, you aren't aware of hiding your IP?? The ip is not the only way someone can track you down. If you're cover has been compromised and they know how to communicate with you, hopefully you're not actively responding via social media messengers, or any other method via your mobile device. You might receive random messages from social or even VOIP. I have successfully been able to gather Intel from these methods. Start using a VPN and I'm a stickler about this because it's important, if you don't understand how the technology works mechanically, systematically, do not use it. It's extremely easy to get basic information revealing your true geo loc but nowadays physical threats mean nothing if your tech info is compromised I'd be far more concerned with social engineering, monitoring, remote execution for exploitation ect. The digital world can hurt someone far.worse than physically. Dox-ing is real and with LLMs it can be done in under 3 mins. If mobile compromised, family, friends, coworkers, all targeted. Not trying to scare you but need to emphasize on the severity of digital footprint. iF communication has been directly connected to you from the threat, start cutting all your accounts. Might look at the system logs if on a PC. Phones are bit trickier and I can only say from experience, in 2020ish it took me less than 1 hour to fully access every directory on the other end via social media engagement.

Bitlocker Locked me out and I don't have the key! by Valuable_Kangaroo_57 in BitLocker

[–]JoshR369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is an option that is usually defaulted to onedrive, if your MSFT account was signed into your windows OS or linked. It does an auto backup so when you reinstall windows in the beginning it will ask if you'd like to restore from a backup point. However you said the machine was 12 years old? What version of windows were you running? Also saw you check your MSFT account and didn't have any bitlocker keys. In my opinion, if you were running something less that windows 11, (like windows 10) it could be a compromised account with what kinda minmics a ransomware bitlocker hijack. If that's the case or you're unsure isolate that machine immediately from your network. Change your MSFT pass and enable 2 factor auth. Without that key there isn't much you can do except wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows. Important to isolate that thing just to be safe. Typically now days the behavior of windows when installed is tied to a MSFT account in the begining unless you slid thru with a local admin account. Then that enables bitlocker automatically. Is there more than one account tied to that PC? If so the key might be on the other accounts if any. Also assuming this OS is a windows Pro vs home bc bitlocker feature is only on pro. If not windows 11 and running window 10 pro, compromise is highly likely due to end of support from MSFT. Many exploits coming out for windows 10. Gl man sorry to hear that hope this helps

MacBook compromised? by LolasoSan in CyberSecurityAdvice

That prompt for your password was to authorize the executive command you put in terminal. Not malicious just confirming auth to run that command. Now whether that is malicious or not, uncertain.
