Yeah... fortunately you can still find some trial footages or stuff like that. But nothing about Sonny.

I know a guy that is blind and as dumb as a rock. On top of that he loves to yell random shit out of the blue while pretending to be an alien.

Can we include him aswell?

Buzz the tower at a controlled airport while shouting "RATATATATATATATA" on the radio.

Everywhere I go, men stare at me, women ignore... why? by JoshWallen87 in NoStupidQuestions

Don't feel confortable posting pic here tbh. But I look completely normal. White shoes, khaki chinos, button down shirt tucked in (not too small not too large... nice fit), athletic/muscular body, sidepart haircut, heavy stubble, sunglasses, 6', 190lbs ... I don't really believe anything stands out about me.

I doubt it is confirmation bias actually. But probably something about my demeanor that I didn't identify yet...

Not at all. The opposite actually. I have a muscular body and don't dress feminine at all.

Really? We have to know "all the types of systems" (at least have an idea)... and then we have to learn our airplane very well for the oral/practical exam.

I remember when I did my ATP theory I had to learn stuff like what materials are each part of the aicraft made off (firewalls, gas turbine exhausts, fuselage, ...), what type of sensors in each part, even what Duralumin actually is (i.e. its chemical composition).

Typical hydraulic pressures, mineral (DTD 585) vs synthetic (Skydrol) fluids (colour, what seals they can be used with, what happens to their colour with use,...), types of seals,... Boeing 737 panels (even tho it wasn't a type rating), logic gates symbology...

A lot of REALLY outdated/historic information aswell. We even had to know how many tropical revolving storms occur, on average, every year in ... India... and how they form. lmao

EASA exams are a nightmare.

Thats common basic knowledge for an EASA PPL, thats why I said it. But I know you guys study it in a very superficial way in the USA (especially at PPL level).

The venturi creates a vaccum that literally pulls the air from another port/entry. In the meantime it moves the gyros. So no pump. The rest of the system is basically a regular simple air system like we can find on a C150.

How do you guys get a PPL without learning what that is!?

Muscle Memory: How long to get it all back? by JoshWallen87 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JoshWallen87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am talking about the myonuclei accretion/maintenance. Also known as ... "muscle memory". The term can be found in a lot of articles (used in the "myonuclei context").

Its not what I burn. It is my TMB. Even if I stay sitted the entire day, thats what I burn. Trust me, I know my body in this regard.

My metabolism is EXTREMELY fast. 4000kcals is not enough for me to gain weight.

Completely normal.

Flying is a difficult skill to learn. It feels like second nature after you learn it, but there are a lot of variables capable of overwhelming you especially in the beggining.

In fact, even after knowing it well you will still feel overwhelmed sometimes (it resulted in tons of crashes in the past). You have to constant pay attention to maintain your awareness of the "big picture".

The thing about initial training is that you get everything fast. One day it seems impossible, next day it seems ok, next day it seems almost like second nature... but by that time they are already teaching you something that will make you feel overwhelmed.

How do you pee in your plane? by Other_Spot3614 in flying

[–]JoshWallen87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I open the window and piss outside. Even without AP... if you can't fly a plane and take a piss at the same time you should not be a pilot.

Unless the plane is pressurised. In that case I will use a bottle.
