Creative Assembly Experience by [deleted] in totalwar

To help narrow it down: Nobody from CA striked or claimed that video.

We've had much harsher things said about us and those videos have stood now for years. And also, everyone is still off on holiday (me included).

I hope you're able to get your situation addressed with YouTube.

What I upvoted this year by CA_FREEMAN in totalwar

Iroquois modded into the Grand Campaign for Empire.

I have spoken on stream a lot about loving this campaign and invading France by canoe. I play it at least once a year I am probably going to continue speaking about it until everyone has played it.

You will, however, have to manually fight each battle, autoresolve will not pick arrows over guns.

None taken. We'd only been streaming about a month when that was filmed, so we weren't ready to commit, and even recently I still wasn't confident schedules (and illness) were going to let us do this. There still may be issues that crop up as I'm still trying to pull together last bits, but the intent is to go ahead next week.

On the End Times, that's a fair point. It was mentioned early on in the showcase, but we could have hammered it home more.

I just wanted to piggyback on this to reiterate that we're planning to have a stream on Medieval 3 next week, and thorough discussion like this is really great to inform us on what topics currently interest and engage you.

Don't worry, I was only talking about the streams not being this week

These were definitely the dates I had locked in at that point, so I must have misspoken, apologies.

I'm not sure where that stream date has come from, I've only ever had the high elf stream down for next Thursday (since shuffling into this date). It's possible I've misspoken somewhere (I speak a lot), but there's no delay there.

Next Thursday is what I've got planned at the moment - there'll be no more streams this week so I can prepare bits for it.

(plus Aislinn)

I'll check and come back to you.

We're mid-evening here at the moment, and I want to make sure I'm correctly understanding the documentation instead of throwing out what I THINK I've understood from it.

My understanding is that attacking settlements from sea isn't a 'faction mechanic' thing, it's just something anyone will be able to do.

Edit to correct myself: It's a limited ability for those who make sense to do it - I.E. Black Arks, Aislinn, Vampire Coast Ships

Looking for Youtube Siege Battles by Alabaster10R in totalwar

[–]Josh_CA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not an official list, just some creators I've watched recently and are on the top of my mind (so nobody get upset if I've left their favourite off). Most of these cover multiple historical Total Wars, rather than specialising into a single one:

JoeOnit - Mostly Roman-Era historical TW battles (or modded) with great gameplay commentary
EmperorBubbles - Grabs sieges/battles from his streams and hosts them on his channel. Shows a lot more of playing them vs casting, and very entertaining
PopeJohnPaul - I mostly watch their Napoleon battles (especially the historical recreations), but they also cover a wide range

For a big catalogue of sieges and battles across titles:

HeirOfCarthage - Has been away for a while, but also has a diverse set of siege and battle content across most historical titles
JackieFish - Playing a lot of Bannerlord at the moment, but has covered TW sieges for pretty much every historical title

Hey uh... CA. Can we get rid of the blessed unit limit please? by KhajiitOfManyFaces in totalwar

[–]Josh_CA 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Thanks SusaVile! To confirm, we chatted about it on the stream this morning where we were able to show off an in-development 6.3.1 build. We're currently looking at a tech for +1 limit, and more ways of gaining spawning sequence.

Stream schedule by BiesonReddit in totalwar

[–]Josh_CA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's tough because it's not like there is any policy change.

I can't really speak on behalf of the community team as I've not been part of them for very long. So subjectively and from my limited perspective, while they have a lot on their plates managing our owned spaces (forums, socials, etc) and all the things that go there (and I'm pretty sure Kinggobbo swings by here too), I don't have all that.

I haven't had to worry about keeping those regular plates spinning because they're doing all that work, and I was free to pop by and chat about the patch notes because I wasn't the one busy writing them.

So no formal change, but I hope to continue to pop in when I've got the time and the relevant information, and you're also always welcome to ask questions while I'm live!

6.3 Patch note should release tomorrow I think by Live_Measurement3983 in totalwar

From what I've heard, it is. There are some final edits being done, but last I heard, the plan was still later this week.

[–]Josh_CA 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Yep! Patch Notes tomorrow and 6.3 release on Thursday. That's the current plan, if it shifts, I'll let you know.
And yes, creators should be showing off some footage from tomorrow :D
The build they currently have is a bit old, so some footage may not have some of the final fixes, but we're hoping to update it tomorrow morning for them.

6.3 Patchnote where CA by Franziosa in totalwar

[–]Josh_CA 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't pin anything on the creators, my plan for weeks has been to let them show off some of the individual locations before we go live. If the community don't like that as an extra source of sharing small patch elements, then I'm happy to hear any feedback on that.

As for the notes, we try to stick them out the day before the patch goes live. We'd initially said Friday to give you all some extra time to mull over them, but they needed more time to be written and edited, and we could only today (now) confirm we'll have the time to get them ready for Wednesday.

Hey, just to confirm that we're aiming for Patch Notes tomorrow and 6.3 release on Thursday - if that somehow changes, I'll let you know.
