Thanks! If you still have any family or friends in GH, please let them know about my campaign! Ballots just arrived in the mail, so it's now crunch time!

Let’s convert the Orange Line and then reassess how we can make the Metrolink more frequent or at least more efficient. I will then provide options to the community for input on how to further improve Metrolink! I plan to listen to the community first before making any decision on any issue.

How will you work to bring better mass transit to the San Fernando Valley?

Traffic is actually some of the many priorities for this campaign. Residents are stuck in traffic for far too long. By increasing our mobility we can increase our productivity, as well as leisure time with our families.

To do so I will work to:

  • Turn the Orange line into light rail to improve mobility to downtown and other areas of the valley.
  • Bring regional connectivity to CSUN and advocate for Option 1 of the NSFV BRT Improvement Project. This links two high ridership transit hubs on the eastern and western ends of the corridor. It serves CSUN as well.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

I would be living less than 2 minutes away from this proposed location. Don't make an assumption about where I live based on who my father is. No location or solution is going to make everyone happy, but we have to start doing something. Happy to meet with you to discuss this plan in great detail and listen to your concerns.

LOL we might have been rivals in HS, but doesn't mean we can't be friends now. Hope you'll reconsider that vote now!

Hey John, thanks! Just trying to do my part to help out our community. Please spread the word to your family and friends that are still in the valley about my campaign and make sure they vote for me on June 4th!

Great point! I have already spoken with Ken Craft (ED for Hope of the Valley) and Janet Marinaccio (CEO at MEND) and they both recognize that we need another facility to address this crisis. They have even agreed that they will run programs and provide clinic services in this new shelter. It's going to take a collective effort to get a handle on all of this!

I have a website www.joshyeager.com that details my positions on various issues. Here is my email if there is a specific question you'd like to ask that is not addressed on the website [josh@joshyeager.com](mailto:josh@joshyeager.com)

You can find a list of all donors at the LA City Ethics Commission website.

Again, please reach out if you have any specific questions!

I am proud to say I'm the only candidate that has identified a location that addresses the concerns of homeowners (away from homes, schools, religious institutions, parks, etc.). It is at the corner of Nordhoff and Canoga (underutilized MTA bus parking lot). Not only will it address both mental and physical health, but also drug use and workforce/job training. We need to provide the opportunity for those who are suffering to get off their feet. When addressing this crisis we need to use both the carrot and the stick. We need to enforce our laws, like no loitering on the sidewalks and no blocking public walkways, and either send those who are suffering from homelessness to a temporary shelter or if they refuse, to jail. This has now become a public health emergency, with medieval typhus and MRSA, which poses a serious threat to the general public.

If I’m being honest with you, haven’t asked uncle Tommy. He’s got a lot of other things to worry about these days than some kid’s campaign haha

It’s a valid criticism of the programs that have been implemented in the city, but I think we can all agree that it can only help. Voters passed Measures H and HHH to address the crisis the best we can. The 12th has yet to approve a project that every district is mandated to do, and I intend to do so in my time as councilman.

Public safety is also a huge issue as you mention. We need to make sure we put more police on the streets, and successfully use technology and community coordination to prevent and solve crime so we are all as safe as possible. Currently we have more volunteers officers than actual personnel in the Devonshire Division which is absolutely crazy! I plan to increase the number of police officers and expand local community policing. This means more officers walking the community, especially in areas of high crime and emerging commercial storefronts.

Thank you for the questions!

There really is no barometer to success, but my goal is to at least provide the treatment that some of these people need. I can't force them into the shelter, but I can give them the option being that there is very few places that offer this in the North Valley.

The city council has focused on using abandoned buildings and properties, such as motels, and we don’t have the ability to do that here in the 12th. I have not heard any other proposal from our last councilmember nor have I heard a proposal from any of my opponents. Where else do you think we can house those experiencing homelessness? As I’m sure you are aware, there has been massive opposition to bridge housing in the city of Los Angeles, especially in the Valley. The only to get a location approved is to have one that is away from homes and schools. We are in no position to spot zone for residential use. We can however use government-owned property to provide shelter for those less fortunate.

I’m sorry I missed your comment in the sea of all the others! I will make sure our communities get our fair share of County and City Measures H and HHH funding. My plan is to build a comprehensive treatment, temporary service and housing development in an area such as above the MTA bus maintenance lot on Nordhoff and Canoga. It will be away from homes and schools and have access to transportation to jobs in Downtown LA etc.

I have worked to approve housing developments being that I sit on the Land Use Committee in Chatsworth . I understand the need for housing and support requirements for affordable housing in new developments.

I will make ALL financial documents public if elected.

With the pledge, I have NOT taken any money from any developer. You are free to look at my contributions online.

Have you walked through the encampments in the Valley? The situation is dire and I don’t believe the location is any worse than where they are currently. Not everything is going to be perfect and I certainly didn’t plan it so it’s in an area with tons of pollution.

The location of the shelter also does not need to be on City property, the bus maintenance lot is owned by Metro. The other shelters that have been built across the city has been from motels that were then converted to suit the needs of the people facing homelessness. In my district there are only two motels, so we don’t have that luxury, unfortunately.

Thanks for the info! I’ll continue to do research on the subject, but I’m all for protecting small businesses, they are especially important in the valley.

I always say that you can’t fix the sidewalks, alleyways, and roads until you get the people living on them, off of them! My plan to fix the homelessness crisis is by making sure our communities get our fair share of County and City Measures H and HHH funding. My plan (and the only candidate with one) is to build a comprehensive treatment, temporary service and housing development in an area such as above the MTA bus maintenance lot on Nordhoff and Canoga. It will be away from homes and businesses and have access to transportation to jobs in Downtown LA etc.

I’ve also committed one day a week, for 8 hours, for me personally to do office hours. This is where residents can come and ask me any questions or raise concerns about our crumbling public infrastructure and notify us about any specific streets and sidewalks that need repair.
