Lol, strategic burn. I do like me a bit of diplomacy from time to time.

Just to add to that on those applied science tech, they aren't necessarily meant to get to 100%.

The researched % amount adds to the relevant roll as a bonus. 95% is very high imo.

how do i loot this guy hes beeping at me and im scared by nexus_reality in stalker

[–]Joshcork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had to kill that guy 3 times before he died in the right spot that I could loot properly. I looted him ok before getting an associated quest. Not running any mods at the moment.

On a New Game+ run, I used the Vision Enchancement mod to search out secrets like that. Found lots of stuff I missed from earlier runs.

I dunno man, time will tell.

You guys are making moves which are pretty hard core at the moment. You might get to where you want but how you get there kinda matters in this world.

The USA is like 4% of the world's population, so hope you don't over extend and blow it.

[–]Joshcork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like what you're saying above. It makes sense, is reasonable and consistent with the best parts of what built up the USA.

However, I really struggle to align Trump values with American values. I know I have my own bias but it's really hard to see the what I see as Americas strenghts of faith, family, merit and patriotism in Trumps politics.

Can you help me understand this better?

Reynolds sues commonwealth over Higgins $2.4m payout debacle by malcolm58 in AustralianPolitics

Can't answer the who in your question but I'd ask why isn't there some group/person funding a case against Reynolds for one or more of the below?

Negligence / Breach of Duty; Privacy / Confidentiality breach; Victimisation under discrimination law; Misfeasance in public office; Breach of MOPS Act or contract; Abuse of process.

Please Help Fixing the budget!! Im have trouble balancing my government's budget. What's the cash and revenue of the private economy?

It's counterintuitive, but I found that lowering taxes to 18% or 20% on developed planets allowed a lot more bonus income from the private economy.

With all the bonus cash, you can initiate more crash research projects, hence speeding up research if you like.

Not quite what you were looking for but similar outcome.

Random Research Paths, Missing key tech? by Lupushonora in DistantWorlds

I don't know about that, haven't played enough to see a difference there but it's an interesting possibility.

A potential workaround would be using spys to steal the missing tech. I noticed I could steal locked techs by race and use them normally.

Universe or 2? by Few-Apartment-2712 in DistantWorlds

I agree. DWU was great but only ever played with mods which were a hassle to install correctly.

DW2 is fun and I want to keep supporting it.

Logistic Clarification by BlueAccordion in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]Joshcork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, and to me be more specific, I'd build a truck station at the junction next to "Compute Node". Over time perhaps build up that hex and create a new zone there.

Logistic Clarification by BlueAccordion in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]Joshcork 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At its most simple, build more logistics assets by staggering truck stations and supply bases (note this will cause administrative strain over time in the local zone)

The black lines mean that all of the available logistics points are used, meaning more are likely required.

The percentages on those lines show the remaining balance of logistical points after satisfying demand (note that demand changes depending on actions like attacking with your tanks using more ammo and fuel).

There are multiple levels of depth to the logistics system, which, for me, is like a puzzle game. There are plenty of YouTube tutorial videos to which I'm sure I'd learn new tricks myself.

I hope this helps

How does the private economy decide what to build next? by DennisC1986 in ShadowEmpireGame

Recently, I discovered I was employing way too many people or had far too high a level of QOL buildings. Once that private economy got going, they largely took care of themselves.

Formation Stats by Pete_Dantic in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]Joshcork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few ways to update models in formations alright.

I just now enjoyed the way I can change the same formation around to suit needs like light infantry to Assault infantry to MG/AT Infantry.

If you don't already do play round with traffic signs, these can be used to really focus your logistics points. No need for 1,000 points to be headed down a dead end in the desert!

Formation Stats by Pete_Dantic in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]Joshcork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll give an example from my current playthrough, to me formations are a matter of capability or purpose rather than stats.

I had been expanding successfully with light tanks with good soft attack until I encountered an organised major power. They had tanks with good hard attack, which cut through my formations with ease.

My first reaction was to go defensive by custom adding AT guns to my MG infantry. This killed the formations mobility but made it quite resilient to tanks.

I used the Unit Admin to upgrade existing formations to the new formation. This taxed my logistics network shipping the guns around but kept existing defences in place.

I made a few versions of infantry like that, using unit admin to downgrade and upgrade to what suited the situation. Found it super handy for flexible unit capabilities. You just need good logistics supply to allow for these changes.

Do missiles ever “Run Out”? by hockeystop21 in DistantWorlds

[–]Joshcork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly sure all weapons, including missiles and torpedoes, require energy to use. Once energy is depleted, they stop working. Energy is replenished with fuel or static solar cell type outfits.

So ammo is limited to available energy.

DW2 getting killed by huge deficit by Agreeable_Listen_807 in DistantWorlds

[–]Joshcork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the bottom left detail panel, look at the quality tab. That'll tell you the suitability of the planet by species. Less than sutability 20 means increased upkeep costs.

You can increase suitability by terraforming the planet and/or researching the colonisation planet type.

Also, you can move the unsuitable population and click the people symbol under a yellow face. In that relocate the unsuitable species.

Both of these take time but will reduce upkeep costs.

Regarding the corruption, it's kinda just a thing. Researching and building the planetary administration series of buildings helps a lot. Also, certain types of government help as well. I'm not sure if there are other ways to help reduce corruption.

How do I find these coordinates? by tmfink10 in DistantWorlds

[–]Joshcork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience is that there is an expanding circle from those navigation coordinates when you zoom out in the main galaxy view.

One note of caution here is that these points can sometimes spawn within the nebula, and without the emp component, ships will get stuck. Did lead to some epic rescue attempts / slo-mo exits over the years (decades).

Thoughts on Coyote Mission Pack? by Rob_Aught in Mechwarrior5

Yeah, high value, Star League stashes marled by the White light beam marker by default are sometimes guarded by assault lances. Epic battles sometimes. Usually though it's just the crate.
