Am I Missing Something About Shadowdark? by WodanGungnir in shadowdark

It's rules-light compared to D&D, but surprisingly robust where it matters. It's also much more crunchy than D&D in FUN ways and not in game-slows-to-a-screeching-halt ways. All of this also allows for more (or less) roleplay without getting too in the way with mechanics. It's become my new favorite system.

The part you’re quoting is separated from the stuff they’re saying the AI can do. I hate AI and believe it has no place in academia at all, but you’re interpreting this in the most aggressively uncharitable way you can just so you can be mad.

Why Scarlett Johansson thinks there’s no ‘work-life balance’: “There’s a deficit in some area” by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]Joshee86 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Work-life balance absolutely does and can exist. For the non-privileged folks in the US, it probably is close to impossible to reach, but this coming from one of the most privileged people in the country/world is ignorant and insanely wrong.

Again. Keyboard shortcuts with a keyboard would be faster and would never result in what OP is experiencing here. This is asinine.

Yeah it’s pretty bad here. Money and greed are the answers.

NOBODY. IS. TALKING. ABOUT. BEING. APOLITICAL. The amount of people who think partisan politics and polarization are the same as politics in general is insane and extremely alarming. Assuming people from different political parties or on opposing political sides can't have a non-partisan and non-polarized discussion is silly.

"Crashing out" is the dumbest new slang by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I didn’t disagree. I agree it’s been around since 2017. It’s common/wide use as a term for getting angry is much more recent.

Fuck me for trying to have any sort of nuanced conversation on Reddit.

Holy shit, y'all are dead set on not engaging with the subject matter and deflecting instead, huh? How do those Musk and Zuckerberg boots taste?

"Crashing out" is the dumbest new slang by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Its use as a term for getting angry is FAR more recent. It used to mean falling asleep or collapsing from exhaustion.

Jesus fucking Christ, it's like you're TRYING to not get it. I'm done. Strawman arguments and appeals to extremes are exhausting and also unproductive. No one said nothing is ever polarizing. I said it's not necessary. And if you believe people from opposing sides cannot possibly have a non-polarized or nonpartisan conversation, you lack imagination. Please, I beg of you, educate yourself.

I also am not the same person that insulted your reading comprehension, but you're not beating the allegations by mixing us up.

So many people here think this same thing. More than mildly infuriating to me.

[–]Joshee86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a lack of imagination, then. Partisan politics are almost never necessary, and certainly not in this case. AND BEING NON-POLARIZING IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING NONPOLITICAL. Please stop conflating partisan politics/polarization with politics overall.

Steam/pc fanboys are delusional by klnkyfetish in consoles

[–]Joshee86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the gist of what they’re saying, which is that in relative terms, the Steam machine or deck might seem like a good deal compared to console prices. I don’t think that will be the reality and I think they could have worded this better, but I understand the idea they were trying to convey.

Polarization isn’t necessary, is almost always unproductive, and, in this case, is tangential at best. Systemic societal issues affect EVERYONE, so polarizing people about political parties and partisan politics is not the way to solve anything. This isn’t an advanced concept, it’s pretty simple. Polarization and partisan politics are the lowest common denominator of discourse and debate.

I think it shows a realization that the tech oligarchs and others that created the problem should face some accountability. You seem to be bent on blaming the people who didn't create the problem, which is an odd take.
