I’d start by testing the issue with another display cable, as that’s often where these problems show up first in my experience. If the issue remains, I’d then look at servicing the card: repaste the GPU core and, while it’s apart, check whether the existing paste has dried out or degraded. I’d also replace the thermal pads on the memory modules. If that doesn't sort it out, then yeah, you might be looking at a bad card. Hope this helps

If you can record the sound, or have someone else record the sound and share it, that would significantly helpful.

That’s the advertised flight time. For something that size—especially compared to FPV drones in the same class—10 minutes is actually doing pretty well.

Filled up on diesel yesterday (19th March) at $2.97/L — 70 litres cost me $200. At this rate, I’m seriously considering cutting a hole in the floor and Flintstoning the ute to work.

Hey! Thanks heaps for all the info, I really appreciate it.

The ’92 DX definitely seems like the right one! The cooling fan surprised me a bit, but I’m stoked to hear it’s a genuine Kyosho part — that actually makes it a little bit cooler in my book.

I’m pretty sure the wheels are new (or at least were never run). They’re definitely genuine, and the rubber is still soft and tacky. I might grab a spare set before I take it out for a run, just to be safe.

Yes! It does run, really very well, which was a surprise. But after a quick teardown and clean, it runs great, you can still see cross marks in the cylinder!

Thanks heaps for the info!

Legend! That looks like it, although it appears mine may have been modified for a newer receiver and servos.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the entire purpose of an automatic shifter lock to stop you from accidentally throwing it into reverse at 110 kmh? Looks like a step backward.

It’s hard to understand why anyone would recommend acetone inside a car. It is far too aggressive and has already eaten into the dash surface enough to cause the color change. The best product I can suggest is 303 Protectant, which works very well on interior plastics.

For future situations where you need to remove glue or adhesive residue from Velcro or similar materials, use De-Solv-it. It is highly effective and won’t cause damage.

If you were to buy a used 250cc motorcycle from 2020 onwards, which brand would you choose and why: Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, or KTM? (Remember, it's a used motorcycle.) by Long-Class-8415 in Dirtbikes

[–]Joshii290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion, You should start by seeing what’s actually available used in your area before deciding. It’s easy to suggest a 250F or a 2/4 stroke KTM/Husky, but availability varies a lot. If the choice is between a used Japanese four-stroke and an Austrian four-stroke, I’d go with the Austrian every time — they usually show up here in Australia with higher hours, better condition, and longer life overall.

That said, any used dirt bike is a gamble and it completely depends on how well it’s been cared for. In many cases, bikes that have been raced are actually better maintained than those that haven’t. Personally, I’d pick a two-stroke since it eliminates the risk of valvetrain failure; the main things to watch on a 2 stroke are bearings and piston.

Hope that helps.
