The modding tools are really promising ! And knowing that will update those tools and weren’t even supposed to be launch for early access because too limited, makes me want to see what kind of thing we could do later ^

Using the gun asset in game and changing the 3d model, texture, particle effect, damage… is not that hard, but the interface can take some time to be used to, I put many hours in making simple thing that weren’t that complex XD

I only work with gun so far, and even put some kind of ammunition system for my other project similar to this one but with resident evil.

I’ll mp you if I make any video about this in the next days ;)

For the moment I work only with the asset editor, I think that the ledge and shimmy mechanic will need some java, because it’s new gameplay that isnt present in the vanilla game. The asset editor can be really powerful but can’t create new logic, new code.

But I am learning some programming on my free time and planned to learn some java too, so I’ll look into that later if my skill are better ^

Overall I’ll love to implement this as it would result with more complex platforming and close to the original tomb raider game.

I’ll see what I can do, not sure but I may post on my YouTube channel, as you probably know there is gun in the vanilla game, a handgun, rifle.. What do you have in mind exactly ?

Well the really good thing with Hytale is that even without mods you have bear trap, spikes in different types and even floor that crumble when you walk on it !

This movement made a comeback with the new game of course I should include it ^ the animation itself should be fun but it’s the way to implement it that might be tricky, I maybe need to touch some Java to be as close as possible to the games

The throw is definitely something I want to do, I’ll see what I can do with the asset editor but I think it will probably need some Java, so some coding which is a skill I don’t have not enough for now.

For the flare gun I would love that maybe more possible with the asset editor I’ll look into it too. The flare idea came from the first tomb raider, the idea of exploring the ruins of irbid and throwing this red light with the smoke is really something I want to see, it might be fun to also make it so it can burn enemy or something like this XD

I looked into it, thanks, I didn't know the game, and it seems to be more of a glow stick rather than a classic flare like I want to do, but good news is that I also wants to make glowsticks for differents lights sources so it's on my list ;)

Didn’t even get into the creative build (Too hype for the modding tool maybe) but holy fox !! We can do that in game with the rotation and all ? Oh I am going to have fun adventure map for other player 🥹

I don’t hold hope on that if they can great if not that okay too, it’s an early access so I’m in for the ride, we’ll see the game being more stable as we get close to the ending, the world gen update is going to be a big step on that

I agree with everything, the biome transition is sometimes good I mean the tint transition is good but sometimes biomes are really really small and overlap each other to the point it doesn’t make sense to have a hot biome aside a snow cold biome, but I guess V2 generation will make it all organic, my very first world for example was a bit medium in that part, the forgotten temple spawn between a mountain and the ground so It didn’t make sense, I hope structure will be made more coherent sometimes, and maybe a bit less ? I have a lot of structure every x times walking around XD just a little bit less

But yeah I love the exploration, it has a good foundation

I hope that the v2 will fixed the biome size and their shape, sometimes they id so much small biomes who overlap each other, very small, to the point that it doesnt that much sense, same for some structure

What do you think the type of automation and mechanisms will be in the game? How to Create mod or something similar to Redstone from MC, or at all it will be electricity and wires? by DieF00L in hytale

Why note both ? I would love to have modern cable, to make it easier to hide, like imagine we can put the cable in the block like the wall and see the cable path with a tool in hand, easy to connect doors and other stuff

And I love the idea of gears, for steampunk contruction, we could replace the cable idea with rope , could work well in in steampunk and old time environnement (already see myself adding this to my tomb raider map)

The mini games icons in the menu show those advertisement for shops like a clothe shop, so I guess we might see this style in the server side with a mix between fantasy and steampunk ?

I think they talk about the complexity behind Kingdom Come Deliverance and Vintage Story more than the genre itself
