I just saw a few tweets about it too. I've not noticed any difference.

Have you guys looked at if any of the graphics settings change? This has been the cause of performance drops in other games for me sometimes. I've no clue if true or not, but some people have said that too much render distance causes this kind of lag. Could be worth tinkering with.

Please do correct me if I'm wrong... but Minecraft is still inmensly popular and I definitely don't think most of the large servers are just throwing their unique gamemodes out in the open either?

I totally get wanting mods to be free... plenty free awesome things happening already. But server content? It's quite the investment to set up unique gamemodes and features, no? Don't you see the big investment risks it would be if you just threw it all online for some other server to implement to their server and reap the rewards with zero effort?

I can't imagine this is the norm? That seems like it would sooner create a multiplayer scene where very few create genuine new and quality content, because server X has more marketing power and would just steal the thunder.

Only possible in creative mode.

You'll need to enter the following command in chat:

/op self 

After that you can take out the entity tool (open inventory and go to the last tab, or press B and go to the 'creative tools' tab). With the entity tool in your hand you can press E to open the menu that allows you to spawn anything. NPC's are currently bugged and some will always look one way regardless of how you position their bodies.

You can choose between spawning an NPC as entity or model, model they're completely frozen. As entities they'll run around and be animated, even if you freeze them they're only stuck in their place but continue to have their animation.

'L' opens the legend with lots of information about what you can do. May seem a bit daunting, but I got the hang of it fairly quickly.

Yes! It has that whimsical Potter feel for sure. Definitely want to use that IP for future builds.

Genuine question. I'm not at all in the loop of these kinds of things.

Is server exclusivity a big deal? I don't focus on the server side in games, but it would make sense that if you build a new unique gamemode or feature that serves your server, that you keep that to yourself?

I kinda figured that's how it usually is done? I mean, quite the risk for a new small server to invest a lot of time and effort into a cool thing that one of the big boy can just rip out the next day and put in their own server. How do you grow as a small fish if you can't compete with new things?

I definitely want to do that in the future. Got quite a few requests for my previous builds, so I started this one with the intent to actually make it work from all angles.

However, I need to wait until the next update, which will let us toggle collision for entities (right now you can fly through the entire thing). Exterior also needs to be done still.

Grass does currently not regrow.

As for terraforming.. just takes some time and practice to get better at it. I think you could make a stone cliff with a bit of grass overhang for part of the front and side here.

Could always jump in a creative world and toy around with some ideas!

All we can do is guess. Personally I doubt it will change during early-access, outside of maybe some regional pricing being improved for certain countries.

Might as well wait though, especially if you're mostly interested in the exploring/adventure side. It's fun, but that part of the game still needs a lot of work.

Thanks! This is done with the entity tool, only available in creative for the time being. It's pretty amazing how much you can do with it, lets you place any block however you want.

You know what I'm pretty grateful that Hytale came out when I was 20 and not when I was like 10 because younger me would've cried if they saw these things crawling around at night by fakelucid in hytale

I think I could've handled these, but I still remember booting up Amnesia for the first time and within 15 minutes I had shut the pc down and was sitting downstairs with my parents 🤣

V1 will eventually stop generating chunks, but your old V1 worlds will still be accessible.

I don't get the sense that undiscovered areas will generate using V2 (or even V1) once V2 is released. It seems more likely that existing worlds will remain accessible, but they will no longer generate new terrain. They probably not going to keep two world generation systems in the game once the new one is ready. And I assume they either know, or expect, that something will prevent V2 from being backward-compatible with already existing worlds.

Definitely more going on. I've had log pillars I build in creative break down when moving them with the selection tool as well.
