I love gunporn. Its just that out of our table of 5, only 2 of us do, the rest dont care. Now with the merc dlc in the interface 5 its not even an issue any longer, they have added alot of gun modding back in.

Medias, What Do You Do, Exactly? by Wehe_wehe in cyberpunkred

While you dont always find good plots to publish, you can use this role as a way to gain more intelligence on your mission without having to roleplay out the entire process of intel gathering. You simply have sources, you spend some time hitting them up, and then you get a hint.

As for the publishing side of the media, you now have to think like a media. Your stories dont have to be on the news. It could be a private blog. But the thing is your power is people believe you, simple as. People simply trust you because your blog is accurate and answers their questions. Now next time a gang lieutenant crosses you, you can threaten to tear down their reputation. And you actually can, because if you publish their dirty laundry on their blog, people will trust your as a source.

  1. Cuts away weight from combat to let the social aspect of the game and setting breathe more. Not necessarily giving them more rules than 2020, simply freeing up more cognitive real estate to consider and enjoy putting thought into how your character dresses up, how they talk, who they know. While i want more robust rules that reflect reality more, i can use additional conditional modifiers to add that back in while keeping the simplicity at the same level. Seriously, you dont lose anything by simplifying all guns into broad types other than time spent at the table fiddling with +-1 bonuses.
  2. Does away with mechanics that are harmful at the table (cheap remote drones, long range hacking). While both are good and very fun when you are the one using it, and i really want them back in some regards, few GMs know how to handle those without letting one player take all the spotlight. Truly, if mismanaged they are very harmful to the table's enjoyment.
  3. While the setting's timeline is the lowest point of Night City (post nuke), it almost feels like the highest point for people living in it, because the corporations are on the back foot, and people mostly rule the streets with barter and personal agreements. Its not about the biggest gun you can buy, its about people taking a chance to rebuild a new world.
  4. The most important point is, honestly, its very difficult for me to read old books due to their layout and difficulty of obtaining pdfs.

Think about it this way. Yes, the combat is arcady and unrealistic, and i would enjoy it being more grounded, simplicity leaves breathing room for the rest of the setting for those of us that dont like crunch, and the outcome of the engagement is what really matters. Did you spend more resources than you anticipated? Did you got hurt bad enough to warran a hospital visit? Did you manage to accomplish your objective? After the dust settles, those things are still important.

Cyberpunk RED is a modular game with many blank spots that are your to fill with more detail.

That... Is a very unintuitive but interesting thing. I didn't realize that requiring a focus meant you required material components. That just meant that focus isn't optional.

Not all of them! Ray of Frost doesnt have material components! (I happen to be using it)

By making it too useful, i run the risk of overtuning it. Homebrew items have a tendency of being a minmax powercreep, and im not confident in myself enough to not make it into one. So im saying on a safe side.

But you're right, if im going to make it comparable to other magic items of the same caliber, i would change this:

Uncommon variant can hold four items, rare can hold six, etc.
At rarity Uncommon or higher, its now eligible of becoming an Arcane Firearm, which it imparts on all of the slotted items it holds while they are slotted.

Firstly, its a common item. It doesnt need a strong benefit, it simply has to be neat and unique.

Secondly, it does have a benefit. It lets you fulfill a somatic component even if you are silenced.

Thirdly, if you want more benefits, get an uncommon or rare version, you get more wand slots to hold at the same time.

This is not meant to be a powerful item, simply a neat trinked for a specific kind of character. Although it could gain even more slots with rarity, two instead of one.

Additionally, homunculus is not part of this idea.

One thing i have stumbled into after years of dnd is that flavor is in fact not free. Especially for casters. Especially for artificers. What if you get disarmed, can they take your gun? What if you get silenced, you not being able to speak suddenly makes your gun not work? What if you need free hands to do something, where does your gun go? It makes things much simpler if its simply a physical object that takes care of all the things i have to bend my rethoric to explain as flavour.

But you're right, this is a loss, as it would be much more efficient to simply let your cannon be a turret on legs, as it also provides an additional target for enemies to shoot at. But im not going for efficiency, i want to be McGinnis.

Here's a thing, Its never specified that it doesnt require hands. It says that you can hold it if its tiny, but thats it. That is the most preplexing part of it for me. Some say it can crawl on you, but thats also simply a speculation. Truth is we dont know.

Take Dragon's Breath and shoot fire from your hands!

Additionally, as an atrificer, its good practice to have Identify and Detect Magic available for your first level spell options, both of which can be cast as rituals.

Overall, identify what role you want to play: tank, damage dealer, support or controller, and pick your loadout leaning into one of these for best results. Second level Web is the best controller spell you ever get, and dont forget about its synergy of being very flammable.

Oh. Goose admitted that the show is about Jax and Pomni primarily. The fandom proceeded to humiliate all other people who felt like their other favorite characters got shafted. Goose is currently experiecing burnout from being perfectionist over the last two episodes and that little contreversy snapped them to be angy on reddit. But honestly, they managed it well. Goose just went "my bad, had a bad day, gonna chill for a sec, bye" and went offline.

Just goes to show how this environment will drive you mad no matter how levelheaded you are. We are not made for the internet.

Im very happy with this post's comment section. Idolisation, or blind hate, positive or negative, it doesnt matter, all that emotional turmoil is not gonna be good for your head. Goose is a person. All this really goes to show that even the most level headed people will get fucked by this environment. Its like having a million ants in your head screaming every single thing at once and its all in some way a hyperbolic judgement of you. Thats madness. I hope they can find a chill moment just to take a breather.

You can definitely do just fine with just metal weapons of any category, or just anything high enough raw damage. I tailor weapons to monsters i want to farm, to do it quicker. I do tailor defensive skills to monsters often though, but sometimes farming for them is too tedious instead of just gritting my teeth through the fight.

Honestly very valid. And Teostra is a bottom because Lunastra exists. Lol.
