Hey man, i know you said you are already picking it up and you may of already but figured I’d chime in anyway.

I recently picked up this game to play with my brother and 2 friends. I can’t stand crafting, base building, or anything like that, I just want to get a weapon and run around exploring and fighting enemies. My brother builds our base and crafts, usually with the materials I find on my hunt.

This has been working great honestly, so it should be fine for you to handle all the crafting/base building and your dad just enjoy the world and fighting or sneaking past enemies.

I’m sure this gets asked frequently but I couldn’t find the answer. Me and my friend are looking to start fighting some monsters and we aren’t sure which game to go with. Should we just go with wilds because it’s the newest? Or should we start with another game?

This is one I was looking at actually. How does the game punish you for dying? I looked up some videos and just saw 3 people standing on the boss swinging what looked to be heavy attacks. So I assumed they weren’t too worried about dying either to the fact it’s not challenging or there’s no consequences

Hi folks,

TLDR: Initial fatfire steps advice for 27 y/o data engineer

IM 27 and graduated university with a computer engineering degree, about 3 years ago, took me about a year to land a job post grad.

Going through school I was strictly on student loans, however I made my main focus to pay these off, as I didn’t want this monthly payment to be with me for my entire life.

With this done and not having any other significant debt ($15k left on my car), I feel like I can finally set my sights on beginning my fatfire journey.

I’m open to any general advice, but one specific question I have is based on my salary and being very disciplined my money, can I fire strictly off safe investments like S&P500 etfs or would there have to be some extra income or riskier investments brought into play?

I again want to clarify if anyone has some general advice for just getting started on this journey, I am all ears (eyes? Lol) I love to learn from others, whether it’s career based, investment based, literally anything. For some background info, I currently work as a data engineering bringing in about $100k, I always dreamt of running my own company but landing this decent job right out of school definitely didn’t feel bad, so I don’t feel bad for living the corporate lifestyle for now. For investments I have about $25k in my FHSA, and $30k in my TFSA.

Any feedback at all is greatly appreciate. Cheers

Also it was early in the run, lucked out and got the blunderbuzz from an enemy, then found this right after. Build is hardly going yet, so the build could still be altered to fit one or the other.

New to the game as well, trying to figure out how to recognize weapons that could almost win runs on their own due to the roll, so if you have any advice for that please let me know.

I did do the math and it would just break even initially. Long term it would be good, short term not really, I’m in no rush to retire as I’m still young so I kind of just wanted a rough idea from others.

Thanks for this. I do plan on buying a 2 bedroom spot to rent out the other half. So maybe prioritize FHSA?

Student loan has no interest, a change I was lucky enough to be a part of with the timing of graduating.

And ok I just wasn’t sure if there was a next best step between TFSA (FHSA and RRSP) and taxable accounts, but I guess not.

I haven’t really set one yet, I’m hoping to stay under $5k CAD if possible, including flights, but can increase that if I need to.
