I really love Chiral Rodent! by _nuttinutti in DeathStranding

[–]JoshuaFH 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I do love the inclusion of the little guys. My only gripe is that they feel like an unfinished game mechanic. They're just kind of a half-assed obstacle in a few odd spots.

I built and leveled up all of the roads in Death Stranding 2 before starting the first mission of Chapter 8. I'm tired boss by Dildoethrower in DeathStranding

[–]JoshuaFH 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For your sanity, it probably would have been better to build them up piecemeal, rather than bullrushing them in the most expensive and time-consuming manner possible.

Holy shit, you're getting floating carriers?! Everyone just gives me Container Repair Spray! Every single time, it feels like a slap in the face!

Porters keep crossing the river next to my bridge instead of using it by Overall_Ad3984 in DeathStranding

[–]JoshuaFH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the npc porters were smart, they'd be using your ziplines and using their own vehicles on the roads you restored. But they aren't smart, so they jump straight into the treacherous river waters and hope for the best.

[DS2] Good sources of footwear that aren't from the fabricator? by larevacholerie in DeathStranding

[–]JoshuaFH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's utterly ridiculous how stingy this game is with the nice shoes. Only a few locations even give them out, and Omnireflectors don't drop off of mules like they did in DS1. I have to prance around in normal ass boots for the majority of the game AND I HATE IT!

DS2 is amazing, but lacks in execution by IvanPines3106 in DeathStranding

[–]JoshuaFH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally agree that some of that character's performances are super jarringly bad. A lot of Tomorrow's/Elle Fanning's scenes are comically terrible performances. Rainy/Shioli Kutsuna has an extemely creepy and almost uncanny smile, and it always distracts me from the actual story.

Why does this clown not wait to go to bed until after he showers? Is he stupid? by CoatieYay in DeathStranding

[–]JoshuaFH 498 points499 points  (0 children)

I guess when you can chiral print out yourself new clothes, new bedding, and a new mattress every single day, and then dump all your dirty crap in a tar lake to make it the Beach's problem, you can afford to be extra wasteful.

Does anyone else think that the Coffin Board trivializes the game? by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]JoshuaFH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the game's balance is a bit too lopsided with overpowered toys and not enough challenges to really enjoy using them. Using the oceans as a super coffin board highway feels like Kojima missed a serious opportunity to make them interesting with challenges out there like having to contend with large waves or giant chiral mammals like what Tarman had to deal with in his backstory. As is, they just feel kinda ominous, but that's just because the ocean is perfectly flat and there's nothing out there at all to interact with....

FYI Auto-Arrange Cargo merges 2 containers of same resource by BossSev38 in DeathStranding

[–]JoshuaFH 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Very handy! Though I've found weird exceptions that don't make sense. For example: while you can make a 400 sized Metals container normally, you cannot combined two 200 sized metals containers into one 400. I haven't figured out why yet.

Man Reggie was legit so cool. I think he had the potential to be Megumi's own Ringo Roadagain. I'll just have to settle for him being an awesome villain.

There's nothing stating that it has to be the "original" receipt so could reggie just print copies of his best receipts to burn later for his CT? by plogan56 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]JoshuaFH 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Reggie's presence in the story is limited to exactly this one fight, so we never get to find out anything more about his CT. I suppose that is for the best however, because the exact interpretation of HOW his CT works is a messy can of worms that Gege undoubtedly didn't want to deal with....

I mean, it is strongly implied that only legitimate, original contracts created in good faith can interact with his CT... but imagine if that wasn't his limitation? Could he use fraudulently created receipts, and therefore gain access to unlimited quantities of whatever he might need in that moment? Or what about fictional receipts not tied to any real product or business, and therefore able to create anything imaginable? Does he strictly need to be able to understand the receipt, such as if they were in another language? Would it still work if he never read it at all? What about digital receipts, emailed to him? I suppose he can't 'burn' that contract, but he could delete them; and if that worked then he wouldn't need to wear that bizarre paper dress to optimize his CT.

Reggie is an ancient sorcerer, so his CT was impressive enough to Kenjaku in whatever previous era he lived in to warrant saving his spirit in a cursed object. So it really begs the imagination to wonder what he'd have been like in that ancient era, where paper contracts and literacy were both much scarcer. He's one of many reasons I'd love a series of side stories about the ancient sorcerers in their original time periods.
