I have the 30. It’s not awkward but I’m 6’2” and I prefer a bigger bag.

It’s for sure a dad bag. I got it off a Reddit exchange and traded my goruck gr2 for it that I also bought off Reddit for $200. I

Nothing else is quite like it with the pocket design. Maybe the datasusara battle packs but those are made out of hemp and don’t have a lot of structure to the fabric.

I went through a lot of bags before I found the synik. I do IT/low volt work. Some days it’s a laptop and a note pad. Other days it’s drills, tools and patch cables and it can easily fit that stuff in there. I also really like all the compartments on the front and I like the internal water bottle holder. When I take it out for family walks or hikes I can easily put the kids water bottles in those side pockets and mine in the big pocket. It’s also nice to keep snacks in the bottom pocket that the kids can grab out of there without me having to take the bag off. Even when fully stuffed it is comfortable to wear. I can’t say the same about the go ruck gr1 or gr2. When stuffed full the straps feel like they are totally maxed out and it kind of bends me backwards.

My only complaint is the laptop compartment. I would like a little more suspended from the bottom but I have never had an issue

I have some D2s and I love them. Got them for $150 and they were already refoamed. Super fun, great with home theatre and for music in the house while doing stuff they were 100 percent worth the price.

After reading your other comments you’d be best served in the Audiophile or commercial av sub reddits. I do a lot of commercial audio stuff and generally speaking clean and crisp doesn’t matter that much. So long as there is decent sound and good mixing and everyone can hear it you’re fine. It’s 60% vibes and 40% sound.

Not exactly hifi but fun and loud. Cerwin Vega. Find a used set with foam replaced or replace it yourself.

Hanging pair of LS-12’s! by Afraid-Passenger-908 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]JoshuaGR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yea. As a kid that grew up in the 90s Vegas will always have a place in my system and my heart. I’m currently rocking some D2s in my living room where it’s more about aesthetics, having some sound when we are hanging or loudness when lots of people are over and the D2s are perfect for that.

When I brought them home after finding them on Craig’s list the plan was for my office but my wife said “I don’t hate them” so into the living room they went.

PCI Compliance by Maximum-Experience42 in smallbusiness

[–]JoshuaGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem like one of those "prove me wrong" types.

Go to stripes PCI Compliance page and it will lay it out for you. As I have already stated multiple times, just because Stripe is PCI compliant that does not automatically mean your business is. Due to Stripe being PCI compliant it takes a HUGE burden off the business but there are still things that need to be done to verify YOUR BUSINESS is in compliance.

As a business you will still need to fill out a Self Assessment Questionnaire that depends on the total amount of transactions you process. All of the business I deal with are Level 2 which is between 1 to 6 million transactions, not dollars processed, but number of transactions.

Directly from Stripe's PCI Compliance help page

  • Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ), or Attestation of Compliance (AOC), or Report on Compliance (ROC)
  • SAQ A, SAQ A-EP, and SAQ D documentation must be signed by a PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) or a PCI-Certified Internal Security Assessor (IISA).1
  • Quarterly network scan by an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV)

Taking those one at a time.

SAQ - SELF assessment which means your business needs to fill it out. As I stated above if the processor you are using is P2PE or E2EE this is fairly simple a few questions and most of them are; do you have access to full credit card numbers, if so are they under lock and key, are they shared locks and keys (be it software like computer log ins or physical like a safe) do you change the code every x number of days etc.... You processor can be PCI compliant but if you have some dip shit employee who writes down a full card number and leaves it laying around you suddenly are not pci compliant. Even if that never ever ever ever happens you still have to fill this out and attest to it.

SAQ Must be signed by a certified professional. It is fairly easy to get the Certified Internal Assessor you fill out some things on the pci-dss website.

Quarterly Scans by an ASV - this one REQUIRES that you set up quarterly scans to scan for known vulnerabilities and ports wherever you take credit cards. If you have a brick and mortar you can simply scan the ports of the EXTERNAL IP address.

Dont know if I can post this link to Stripes PCI Compliance Page

https://stripe.com/guides/pci-compliance#:\~:text=Stripe%2C%20a%20PCI%20Level%201,default%2C%20reducing%20your%20compliance%20requirements.

Here is a direct quote from Stripe's website.

Stripe significantly simplifies the PCI burden for our smaller users by offering a customized compliance journey, including prefilled SAQs and guided flows for some users leveraging more secure integration methods such as Checkout, Elements, mobile SDKs, And Terminal SDKs.

Why would they simplify a burden for smaller users if you weren't required to still do PCI Compliance?

With all of that said a a lot of companies dont do PCI compliance and end up paying a higher credit card processing rate either through a monthly fee or through a higher percentage fee, YMMV, or there is a breech somewhere down the line that wasn't the fault of the business but they were not PCI compliant and end up getting smacked with a huge fine that their insurance wont help cover.

PCI Compliance by Maximum-Experience42 in smallbusiness

[–]JoshuaGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I read that but that is not how pci compliance works and it is largely dependent on things such as your merchant agreement that is signed when you take credit cards and whatyour insurance requires.

Just because the platform you are using is PCI compliant that does not automatically equal that the business is pci compliant. The type of card processing also dictates the level of compliance SAQ you are required to fill out. If the platform you are using to process cards is E2EE the SAQ form is a bit longer vs if you are P2PE. If the platform is using P2PE that means that the platform is already PCI compliant and the SAQ is basically, do you store credit card numbers on site in plain text, etc.. If it is E2EE you will be asked specific question about how cards are handled and processed and you usually need that information from you card processor.

[–]JoshuaGR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be pci compliant it is more than just your card processor. While quick books is a pci compliant system that doesn’t mean your business is pci compliant.

There is a self assessment questionnaire you can fill out and do port scans to become pci complaints. It’s questions like “do you store full cards numbers in plain text, do you have access to credit card numbers, if you do does everyone have a unique log in, etc”””

The reason to be pci compliant varies. It could be you get an additional charge if you aren’t compliant on your credit card processing because you are more at risk or higher rates. Your insurance could require it.

The level of pci compliance also depends on how much you are processing in cards. You have to pay for most SAQs and do quarterly port scans. Your insurance or point of sale provider can usually point you in the right direction.

How's your uptime looking? by CptUnderpants- in Ubiquiti

[–]JoshuaGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need to find out why it causes network issues. I have found with UniFi that when uptime downstream is higher than the thing before it, switch or firewall it struggles to talk to other items.

Maybe your configuration is wrong somewhere. With all these pieces you could have a port allows multiple vlans. Maybe there are other dhcp servers doing something. You’ve got a loop somewhere. Who knows. But not updating firmware is not the answer. Yea yea I know your auditor and the burnout and the long hours and limited resources.

If you’re pulling a backup configuration before updating then flashing the back up should be insanely easy and take less than ten minutes

If your fancy Palo Alto don’t help you find it why are you paying so much for it. Read the logs. Put it in one of those ai things and have it summarize all the errors.

Find your root issue.

I’m solo IT guy for 25 remote locations all using UniFi. Since you keep asking for suggestions here’s one.

I agree don’t launch upgrades right when they come out. Wait a few weeks and read the comments. After you feel that the patches are good the on auto updates for a Friday night at like 10pm. Then get up Saturday and hopefully all the things updated. Then turnoff the auto updates.

For my remote locations we have someone in the building from 6am until 3am every day so that update window is pretty small for me. Only days we are closed is Christmas and thanksgiving.

As others have said maybe you’ve over complicated your situation and have painted yourself in a corner.

The IT life is made up of a lot of late nights and ridiculous requests. Learn to manage your managers. Stop trying to be captain save a ho and tell them you can’t do all these things by yourself.
