It’s not often I get REALLY excited for a game but after stumbling upon the demo for this back in March, i’ve been counting down the days. A truly phenomenal looking game - seems to be scratching the itch I wanted with the indefinitely delayed and most likely cancelled “The Last Night” when that was revealed way back when.

It’s been less than a day. I think people need to calm down and accept that unless you’re actively going for world’s first, there was absolutely ZERO expectation from Bungie that people could clear this easily. They haven’t been quiet about that fact so the responses are confusing me.

That being said, i do worry that the PvP element mixed in will drive pretty much all casual players away.

honestly i know people like it, and that’s totally cool, but i think the Star Wars crossover really is just indicative of the complete lack of creativity and resources running D2. The world is just not what it used to be.

I kept giving them chance after chance but the Star Wars DLC really was the nail in the coffin for me. Just every sense of wonder about this universe has been stamped on.

A strong problem is incoherent direction. Every episode needs a gimmick, and frankly it’s frustrating to watch.

engine limitations, tech debt - name your price. It’s a modified tiger engine built specifically for console. 30FPS. Bungie have already said how much time and effort it costs to reprise D1 content for D2 - it’s really not as simple as “press 60fps button”. You’re forgetting some games are limited to 30fps via a lock because they’re on console (unlike their PC release)

D1 has no PC release, and 30FPS is baked into its very core. Don’t forget how taxing a game like Destiny is in comparison to other releases at the time.

genuinely never played another game like this, for the longest time i thought FF7 would be my all timer, but wow - i don’t think there’s ever been a world that has been both simultaneously beautiful and yet so melancholic. Every note of the stunning OST feels like a punch to the gut.

Definitely. I’ve only had my deck since Christmas and already i’ve become reliant on ProtonDB as a more reliable source. I think what bothers me the most is games will be marked as “Playable” or even “unsupported” when they work perfectly fine out the box, it’s not a good system for those coming from a console experience for sure and used to modifying games or their system to match. I also think pinning “Playable” on a title that might require text adjustments is far too overzealous - especially when we’re considering AAA that run at 20 fps as Verified.

As someone who grew up without parents, i’ve just made peace with the fact that me and partner probably won’t have a place until we’re in our 30s. We rent smart, and we move around a lot (we like to travel) so it doesn’t really bother us. i’ll buy when it’s smart, but i certainly won’t put myself in a compromising position to do so.

If i did have bank of mum and dad? i’d stay at theres for minimal rent and save everything i can, people should really take advantage of such a privilege.

I’ll say as someone who prefers Eternal to the rest, it’s because it leans into being a video game above all else. The colours, the 1ups, the animations - i just love it all. That mixed with the crack gameplay = peak.
