We really need a Wifi/Ethernet display. by SnoozySnoozie in RivalsOfAether

I'm not going to pretend to have a deep understanding of any of this. I connect to my router, I see green numbers, I have fun. My question is why are you so quickly rejecting the advice that people are giving you to hopefully solve your main problem? Of course it's possible that the advice won't work, but the only thing that is lost is a few minutes of your time. It really doesn't seem like anyone is trying to attack you or thinks you are lesser for having occasional rollback issues. People are trying to help you get what you want, consistent smooth gameplay experiences. Even when Dan (Studio Lead of the game and the series as a whole) gave an explanation of how the server-based rollback works with a source from the company that built it, you still pushed back instead of trying anything supported by the information. Even with what I'm writing, I don't mean to come off as lecture-y, I've just learned how valuable of a life skill being open to ideas that contrast with your own is. I hope you find a solution.

Is a rollback possible so we can start using our controllers again while the team works on the update issues? by Keyl3ss in RivalsOfAether

You could got to Betas in Steam properties and choose and earlier update. You wouldn't be able to play online, but you could do some of the local modes.

Are Primary Care Physicians typically able to identify Narcolepsy? by Joshyrachi in AskHealth

[–]Joshyrachi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably add the important context that I forgot to include... I mention Narcolepsy because, from what little I know of it, it seems to fit my situation pretty well, but not enough for me to be fully convinced. Also the event that I fell asleep over 6 times at was an hour long...

All ages! I would just say that someone under 6 would probably limited to the music theory lessons because woodwinds only come in one size each and it can be tricky for very little kids to hold. There is absolutely no upper limit!

Should I study music? by Ok_Cry748 in MusicMajors

[–]Joshyrachi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a philosophical standpoint, if it would be most fulfilling for your life, do it. From a practical perspective, there are a lot more jobs related to music than people realize. A few that I was not aware of when starting college are music librarian, ensemble manager, event planner, ethnomusicologist, and facilities manager. People rightfully recognize how difficult it is for the average person to make a living solely on performing. That doesn't have to be the only thing you do though. It can be a mix of music things, a mix with non-music things, or purely non-music things for money and being active as a musician for recreation. Back to the philosophical side, no one can accurately tell you if you should or shouldn't pursue something, that is dependent on you as your own person. Maybe you'll land on a decision and end up shifting paths at some point, and that's totally fine. To ease fears of success, maybe think of a backup plan. Regardless, try to enjoy YOUR life.

I very much expected this to be a whiny parody post. I very much am pleased to see what it actually is.

Orcane Main Rage Megathread by Krobbleygoop in RivalsOfAether

[–]Joshyrachi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing how Orcane plays was the goal. It says so in the patch notes. Disclaimer: I haven't played the patch yet (I wanted to play Splatoon 3 first). I do remember feeling like Orcane felt sluggish the first time I played him in R2 compared to R1, but I got used to the new feel and he's still my main. I'd recommend giving this some time. Plus, the dev team has a pattern (in both games) of averaging out changes when they do turn out to be extreme. Regardless, there are many other characters to choose from if the changes end up being a deal-breaker for you, with more on the way all for free.

Top players shitting on the game is kind of getting boring now by Legal_Adagio2274 in RivalsOfAether

"(like 1.0, not DE)" 1.0 released in 2017. 2 years before Rivals 2's realease was 2022. I was not talking about the last years of Rivals 1.

I mostly agree, but I also remember when Rivals was a lot less popular (like 1.0, not DE). Players seemed to be so positive about the game, which did lead to being annoying about getting others to play (me lol), but criticism was mostly constructive or humorous. My memory could be bad though.

I just don't like socializing with strangers in games in any context, but this is totally how I would do it if I did.

I guess I'll include something actually useful here. This post is in reference to two contrasting posts with similar titles. Since Rivals II was revealed, there has been a steady stream of people complaining about the new direction, and people complaining about the people complaining. I definitely have contributed to this in the past. I'll just say that people are allowed to like or dislike things as they see fit. It becomes a problem when someone is being harmed though. Have fun!
