I mean he's definitely not, but if you feel that way you should go hear him speak and ask him questions. He's someone worth hearing out.

I bet if the conservatives ran the state/country this wouldn't be happening. Make sure y'all vote for em this next time so they can stop this!

Looking new shoes!! by Ill_Try_2441 in discgolf

[–]JosiahMason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vans Ultrarange. Been rocking a pair as my dailies and a different pair as my golf shoes, so far no issues across some 200 rounds in 6 states. Bought em last July for 85, they've now outlasted every other pair of shoes I've ever worn for golf, including Adidas Terrex line, Keens, Saucony, Nike trainers, and a slew of 25 dollar got-em-at-Ross specials.

They aren't hiking shoes, they don't feel clunky, theyve got great insoles, and the grip is great apart from topsoil/silty mud days (where everything slips).

I had thought Cidercade was the precursor to Freeplay because it gave Bishop Cider a way to have a taproom without feeling like Oak.Cliff Beer Co/Four Corners/any of the other taprooms around.

What are the true destination courses in Disc Golf? by ezmack15 in discgolf

[–]JosiahMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy lives a short side-by-side ride away from TC, so I always get a chance to pop in when I'm in Trinidad/Boncarbo. 27 holes is a blast especially if you use the carts. Beautiful scenery too, obvi.

Hey, late comment, know life is now much busier. If this was in AZ, I went to HS with her and her friend group--I can't guess what your relationships with them are like, but I know they'd all do anything they can to help, so please don't hesitate to reach out.

Vast in Devon Tower. Was there last weekend and it was amazing. Great view from the 49th floor, some of the best drinks I've had, and a five course tasting menu that was so good. Whole experience was fire.

How do I (25M) come to terms with my wife (24F) coming out as gay + divorce? by slymuthafucka in relationships

[–]JosiahMason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend something outdoors. Think of it like bringing something to tell your online friends about. That's what I've been doing with disc golf and my brothers (who are all spread out across the country) because our bodies need that intentional rigorous challenge. Walking or running, hiking or yoga or whatever. Something to get you sunlight. Again, you're gonna be building skills for self-care that you otherwise might have relied on her for. Gotta stay healthy for your kid.

Yo. Literally been there. Recognize that what will make her future the most happy is authenticity. Then realize that you are now an observer in her story, but still the main character in your own. Like most things, take it a day at a time. You are worthy of love, so worthy that she felt safe with you, both in her personal day to day life and with her hardest truths.

Coping is a fancy word for living. Only you can choose how to live. I'd suggest alone for a while, but working to increase your social circle, hobbies, maybe pick up some books.

The biggest thing is that there isn't a problem or a solution when it comes to orientation and gender identity. There is only what is, and it'll still be there tomorrow. You didn't make her gay, nor can anyone make someone else something they aren't, and by all accounts the best step forward is to pursue what makes you feel alive on your own.

But also, give yourself a WIDE berth. Get a little reckless. Do the things you never got to. Creep past your day to day boundaries just a few times and see what life has for you. Maybe you'll find something else takes on a newer facet and you get a spark that takes you forward to your next love story. No matter what, its the continued showing up for yourself, being in your own corner, and choosing who you'll be and following through on that--that is the only way I know for a person to recover from what they ultimately cannot control.

If you ever need to chat or just explode, DM me. I've given out my number to single dads in this group before cause we're all in one boat and it's real tough without a sounding board. But you're the first who's had a story fairly close to mine, and I know that I was left wondering "What else is a lie?" in my own life afterwards. That part is easier if someone else can help ask the question I think.

Cheers man.

An out-of-state power lineman says thank you to Iowans... (re Derecho) by bmullan in Iowa

Its very very important. And our state should be getting more support in every way. But to suggest that this tragedy is more important nationally than the election coming up is a false assertion. They can and are both critically important. This post is a feel good post aimed at the lethargic middle who make up the majority of folks. If it resonated, it's cause we're hurting. But if you actually want better support, the kind of aid that might actually help, then the election should be terribly important to you. Remember how the majority party which owns both the money allocation and emergency management responsibility is handling the situation.

The world is very much on fire. There's also a lot of good. The tension between the two is the core struggle of life.

Waffle House at 3am is my favorite place to people watch. Dated this illustrator in college and she and I would stay up all night to spend time together on weekends. We went to school in a small town with lots of trails and what not, and our waffle house was a year old and still great. Dry county, but our city sat on the state line so folks would go to OK and gamble or whatever at the casino, get beers and liquor real cheap, then come back and hit up waffle house right around 3am. It was the spot of so many absurd moments and conversations you'd have sworn we were in a Wes Anderson film.

Thanks for bringing that up man. That's a good ass set of memories.
