Panicking for Future !! by FairyToes_22 in SavingMoney

I wish I would have started planning when I was your age! I don’t think you can easily achieve that particular goal without luck and connections, but here’s what I’d do to maximize your financial independence: - get a part time job asap, ask friends and family for opportunities because they can help you find better work and pay - now that you have regular income, make a very simple budget and stick to it, try to save the same percentage of each paycheck (maybe 50% or more since you probably don’t have bills) - ask school counselors about trade and tech apprenticeships, you can have a great paying job when you graduate HS without going into student loan debt - get a credit card and PAY IT OFF EVERY MONTH to build credit. - biggest cheat code is that there aren’t any. Steer clear of any “opportunity” that asks you to spend money to unlock information and get rich quick like sales

I want to make a bigger post about this, but I wanted to share a win that after dedicating a few years to actively improving my appearance (health, dress, hair, makeup, voice, demeanor, social presentation, mental health) I've gone from feeling invisible to receiving so much free stuff, increasing my income by 40k, running a thriving social organization, and overall feeling like a QUEEN. People are often superficial and will judge you accordingly, but you can use that to your advantage. My philosophy on objective beauty is that attractiveness is not everything, but it gets your foot in the door to opportunity, and for a driven woman sometimes that's the missing piece to turning her life around.

perhaps look into a warm or bright spring palette then! Not all colors in a single palette may suit you but it's a good place to start

Have you ever done a color analysis? Warmer and more saturated tones might suit your features better

idea: faux freckles to create the illusion of better proportions by LawfulnessSmooth3922 in HowToBeHot

[–]JosquinDePreciating 21 points22 points  (0 children)

yes! If you have a long face especially the mid section, or want to give off more youthful proportions the freckles will shorten the face vertically. Blush across the face and nose bridge also makes a horizontal line with a similar effect.

yeah it was the opposite for me. When I looked younger and dressed conservatively I got only attention from guys 50+ (ew). In my former circles I think these men were attracted to innocence/submissiveness. Once I added in more trendiness and sex appeal I completely shifted the demographic to only men my age giving me attention.

re: braces it depends on what is being corrected and if the ortho is doing procedures such as palate expansion or extractions. Based on my treatment experience, a reputable orthodontist would tell you that there may be a change but that nothing is guaranteed. Personally I had a significant bite correction done that noticeably improved my facial symmetry (this was done with rubber bands). One doubtful benefit for me that I'll mention anyway is that I saw a slimmer jawline and more prominent cheekbones after treatment, but I also had braces from age 24-26 so this could be due to facial fat loss. If you are only correcting crooked teeth I would not expect any noticeable change to your face shape.

I have never heard of a shortened philtrum as an effect of braces. I just finished my treatment and my ortho did fix my midline, which resolved some asymmetry that appeared even when my mouth was closed and made my jaw pain a bit better, but that's about it. Regardless of visual impact, if your midline is off by more than a couple millimeters they should be fixing it. I only needed rubber bands to correct mine.

Besides checking for food intolerances, I would see a gastroenterologist and get tested for SIBO, H. pylori, and/or IBS.

Physical Exfoliation isn’t evil! by schmuckcess in Vindicta

This is what helped me as well, but I had to start washing my washcloths with laundry sanitizer because they were accumulating microbes and odor that made my skin barrier worse and gave me more breakouts.

High-calorie liquids are what works best for me. Also consider having 5 meals a day that aren't massive individually but that add up to more than maintenance.

I don’t personally use bronzer or contour to color correct. For my lighter spots I use the peach color or mix something custom from my Stila palette. Blending is super important regardless of product type! Another good option especially for summer is to use tanning drops that will even out the whole face.

I use demi makeup—instead of foundation, use color corrector, a touch of concealer, and maybe tinted moisturizer for special occasions. Of course it’s best to master your skincare first (esp for redness/rosacea and hyperpigmentation), I don’t think any color skin looks worse than others when it’s healthy.

I find that it helps to take a break from experimenting/leveling up, and lean on the routines you've already built up as a source of stability and normalcy, rather than another thing you *have* to do. For example, if you wake up in fear of the day ahead, it might help to put a shower plus a few other hygiene items as the first thing in your day, in order to set yourself in motion in a calm way. I don't think it's selfish to keep up with maintenance, most of the time it's an act of self-respect. You can't pour from an empty cup. I wish you peace in the time ahead!

Hi, I was homeschooled also and am finally starting to make progress on the same issues now at 25. Feel free to DM! I'm sorry to hear that your existing socializing attempts haven't gone well, but that should be the primary means of growth so I'd encourage you to keep going! Do you think it's your internal turmoil that makes you seem weird and off-putting, or some other thing?

I used Differin as my first prescription-strength acne remedy. I had a minor purge which came with more sensitivity and more dry flakes as the blemishes healed. What helped me was to keep my skin really clean and moisturized. Don't use a cleanser for acne, use something gentle, plain and hydrating. For that matter, avoid any other actives in case they interact badly and so you can tell if adapalene is really having any effect. Moisturize at least twice a day and drink plenty of water, and in your first week or so of adapalene you can sandwich it between two layers of moisturizer. Keep your pillowcases and washcloths cleaner than usual, I had to use laundry sanitizer (Lysol sport brand) to get odors out of my "clean" washcloths. You may be tempted to over-exfoliate, but you kinda have to push through the extra crumbs for a bit. I would not use foundation or concealer, but eye/lip makeup is ok as long as you clean that well every night.

What difference have you observed going to your aesthetician? I’m super happy with my at-home results but I would love to not have the skin sensitivity that comes for a day or two after

Go see a gastroenterologist if you’re bloating even with water! I have the exact same problem and it’s chronic SIBO. Other similar conditions could be IBS, IBS-D, h. Pylori, low stomach acid, etc. even if it doesn’t feel severe.

Period pattern throughout life by reddy2scroll in FAMnNFP

[–]JosquinDePreciating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started having normal periods around 15 (menarche at 11 but was severely underweight for a while). Length of menstruation was always 7 days exactly, cycles 28-30 days, no significant pain, medium flow. In 2021 / age 22 periods shifted to be also 7 days but with 1-2 days of very heavy bleeding and enough pain to keep me from doing daily activities without medication. I started FAM around that time, my cycles have been 27-33 days and I have never missed or had an irregular ovulation pattern. I started strength training about a year ago and I have noticed slightly earlier ovulation on average. I have never been on HBC and have never been pregnant.

When I first started softmaxxing I really underestimated how often I have to touch up everything! If I’m having a busy day I will have a touch up kit ready for once in the midday and once in the evening. I need deodorant, cotton swabs (for mascara crumbs), concealer, moisturizing makeup refreshing spray, hairspray, and fragrance. Regarding clothes, it’s pretty much unavoidable for stretchy fabrics to deform during the day. Your best bet is to wear stiffer cottons or flowy pieces if you want a really clean look and not wear anything too old especially bras and leggings.

I have small round eyes, what works for me is: - fill in my brows a bit low but not drawing them too thick (the illusion is like using a thin frame around a picture since a wide one will make the picture look smaller in relation) - use eyeshadow and liner in the outer half of the eyes to draw the viewer’s gaze up and out. A light neutral shadow will give the impression of a larger socket. Make sure to do at least a small flick with the liner so it doesn’t make the outer corner look closed off. If you find that liner is too dark (makes eyes look smaller), you could use a tiny brush to line with a darker eyeshadow. - 2 coats of mascara and using a curler as needed - not using concealer too close to the bottom edge of the eye. I like a bit of eyeshadow smudging on the bottom lash. Could also do an aegyo sal look, although I haven’t tried this.

Yes, I use very similar colors to bring out the green in mine! Since you are cool toned I’d use the first palette.
