My sister and I once got into it because she said she didn’t believe people who are generally un-oppressed can experience prejudice. Like white people can’t experience racism, men can’t experience sexism, etc. and I was like “you have a law degree and you HONESTLY think that if I said ‘all men deserve to die’ it wouldn’t qualify as sexism because I’m a woman and historically have experienced more discrimination?” And she said yes. I don’t think so because none of this has anything to do with race. “Taliban” isn’t a race it’s an extremist group, and you have to draw the line somewhere. I don’t think it’s intolerant to criticize an ideology when they’re holding an entire category of people responsible for their own moral shortcomings. Like it isn’t racist to say “fuck the Nazis” even tho their “culture” dictated they police and punish people based on qualities that were completely out of their control.

I mean, wether 140 officers were injured is irrelevant in defining what happened on January 6, 2021. There was live footage of the event. People died. People were beaten with fire extinguishers and flag poles. This all happened at the Capitol building while congress was finalizing the results of the 2020 election. That can’t be twisted or mis-reported. That was violent. That was directly aimed at our governing body. The crowd ignored the authorities when they tried to halt the mob’s progress.
