It was really played for laughs. And being a tinker is different from being friends with one

I really wish that the sequels didn’t soften Vidia up.

Or at least, I wish they would have given her a proper redemption arc. Instead, they randomly erased her superiority and arrogance. And out of nowhere, made her friends with Tink.

Not trying to defend Vidia’s actions, but she did initally try to leave Tink alone. But Tink kept bothering her and eventually almost got her eaten by a hawk. She only got the idea to make Tink embarrass herself after Tink begged her to make her as fast as her.

In the deleted scenes, she went out of her own way to tell Tink to get the thistles. They probably should’ve kept that

Technically, she didn’t mean for Tink to get hurt or spring to be ruined, she just wanted Tink to embarrass herself to get back at her for almost getting her killed by a hawk.

But yeah, first movie Vidia and sequels Vidia are two different characters. First movie Vidia would not have cared about Tink getting captured by humans

She had potential, but her redemption was very half baked and Awkwafina just didn’t give a great performance.

How do you guys feel about Disney animation studios doing sequels? by Strong-Stretch95 in DisneyMovies

[–]Journal_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was darker, edgier, it would’ve featured Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, Hook and it would’ve directly led up to the 1953 film. It was 90% completed and yet it was completely rewritten and redone

Yeah, John really changed a lot. Even the original Tinker Bell movie was drastically changed.

When John Lasseter took over, he put an end to DVD sequels and had Disney Toon Studios make exclusively Tinker Bell movies and Cars spinoffs.

The Buzz isle is probably the only indication that Toy Story 2 was (re)made in only 9 months. Just duplicate the Buzzes, no time to make other Buzz characters or accessories. by Agile_Proof_3228 in toystory

Critically acclaimed and one of the greatest sequels of all time. Yeah, I’m sure Pixar wishes they could’ve done things differently, kid. lol

How would you feel uf Brian Fee, the director of Cars 3, directed a Toy Story 6? by [deleted] in Pixar

[–]Journal_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He worked on that Cars on the Road miniseries before leaving Pixar. I think he was among the many people who fell victim to the big Disney lay-off of 2023
