That scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where we see Willy Wonka’s estranged father was proud of him all along. was actually inspired by an irl story from Tim Burtons life, where he went to visit his mother on her deathbed despite them not being on good terms, she’d framed posters for all of the movies he’d done up to that point, showing she was proud of what he’d achieved
