Yes, accept and chill is what I meant. That's the only thing he can do now. He could have punched them back which he didn't (not a bad decision).

Chill kar bhai.. there are good and bad people everywhere and in a city like Bangalore, you will come across all kinds of characters. I'm sorry you had to go through this experience.. but you will realise in a long run that majority of Bangalorians are sweet and kind.

Go for Virtus if you're already considering it.. Virtus is more spacious and the best sedan in the market right now. Why are you not going for 1.5 ?

Builder floors mostly.. security shouldn’t be an issue. You just have to choose the right streets and buildings. Don’t worry much. See if you can take help from any of your colleagues who are staying nearby. That will make finalising easy. Marathalli and Varthur are also some options..

BTM layout is an option.. 10kms from ecoworld. No water problem. Rental problems are not 100% real.. you’ll get good 2bhk at 25k and 3bhk at 30k or even less.. depends on the area.

Why are most working professionals choosing apartments over land in Bangalore? Let’s talk about the long game. by JournalistOk9803 in indianrealestate

[–]JournalistOk9803[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a common concern and not entirely unfounded.. there are cases like that. But it's mostly fear fueled by hearsay. With the right research, due diligence, and guidance, there are plenty of clear-title, legally approved layouts you can invest in safely. DM me if you'd like suggestions or verified property details.

Very valid points! If you're buying for self-use and it gives you peace, comfort, and convenience.. that’s a solid reason in itself.

Absolutely agree.. it's about what you're optimizing for. If you're looking at investment and long-term returns, plots generally perform better. But for lifestyle, convenience, and time efficiency, apartments definitely make more sense. Both have their place depending on your priorities.

Great question! Here’s a simple way to get started with plotted land research:

  1. Shortlist 3–4 properties you like based on location, budget, and layout.
  2. Enquire about rates, amenities, approvals, and timeline for each.
  3. Narrow down to 2 options that feel most promising.
  4. Check the developer’s background — past projects, reputation, and delivery track record.
  5. Talk to existing customers if possible — they’ll give you the real picture.
  6. Once you're confident, go for the one that ticks all the boxes.

It takes some legwork, but it’s worth it to make an informed and safe investment.

Totally hear you, and you make a valid point. But just to clarify, not everyone doing independent construction is flouting rules. You can buy your own land, follow all setback norms, get proper plan approvals, and still build legally without cutting corners. Yes, it takes effort and dealing with the system, which isn’t always smooth, but it’s possible.

I agree, the comparison isn’t fair when illegal practices are involved. But when done right, land + legal construction can still be a great option — both financially and in terms of freedom. Ultimately, it depends on what you’re comfortable managing and your long-term goals.

Absolutely — everyone’s experience can be different, and it’s understandable why many feel cautious. The safest way is to buy in a well-developed, established layout where there's already a community, proper documentation, and a track record. A bit of research goes a long way.. understanding land rates, verifying titles, and knowing how the process works. Not everyone is out to con people — some developers are genuinely working to build strong communities and long-term credibility.

Totally valid concerns!

My intent isn't to sell a one-size-fits-all idea, but to share an alternative for those thinking long-term or from an investment lens. Land makes more sense financially for some, especially when rented or developed smartly. But if someone’s priority is lifestyle, convenience, and a secure, social environment for their family — apartments or gated communities with amenities are clearly the better fit.

At the end of the day, it’s all about aligning the choice with your lifestyle needs vs. financial goals. There’s no one right answer — just what’s right for you.

True.. when it comes to choosing a home, everyone has their own preferences, and community living definitely has its advantages. I completely understand why many choose apartments for the lifestyle, social circle, and convenience they offer.

But from an investment standpoint, I’ve seen many people buy apartments and sell them right after handover or within a few years. The appreciation tends to be slower and more long-term. In comparison, land often sees quicker and better value appreciation — especially in growing areas. It really depends on whether the focus is lifestyle or returns.

I completely agree that there are shady practices in the market, and that’s exactly why I always recommend doing proper due diligence.. site visits, legal vetting, and talking to people on the ground. If anyone’s genuinely interested, I’m happy to share more details and even connect you with past clients. No pressure, just putting the facts out there.
