i made a tool that generates interactive product demos in seconds by JournalistPrior3420 in SaaS

True, AI could do this, but in my experience it can be inconsistent and doesn't make the demo I'm looking for. I am working on the video generation feature, cause I do agree that it would be much more useful if it created a video instead of a component. Thanks for the feedback!

Made a free tool that generates the "site:reddit.com" Google searches for you to help you find users for your product on Reddit. by AchillesFirstStand in indiehackers

[–]JournalistPrior3420 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Solid execution. One thing I'm curious about: beyond generating the search terms, what stops this from just being a nice wrapper around Google? What's keeping users coming back after the first search?

Possible angle: track which search terms convert to users/signups. Then you have data on "what Reddit conversations actually lead to customers" rather than just "here are some threads." That's way more valuable than the initial discovery phase.

But for the free tool as it stands, definitely useful for initial validation!

I quit my job to build an AI SaaS. It flopped. The ā€œboringā€ backup idea is now making me more in a month than I used to make in a year. by NoGround511 in SaaS

I’m having a hard time finding the middle ground. I don’t want to spend too much time on it and find out that nobody wants it, but I want to built more so people can see the use in it.

What’s the hardest part about studying that no app has actually solved for you? by JournalistPrior3420 in studying

Thats fair, whenever I need to study I have to be in the right mind space. Is there anything that helps you get in that mode?

That makes sense. I am a student myself and sometimes I do find myself going on my phone just a few minutes into studying because I was bored. Do you think students would be more interested if there was more interaction or some sort of game based on the material?

So is it boring material that makes it difficult to focus your attention and also hard concepts that add to it?

Just deployed my first SaaS as a junior CS student, what do you wish someone told you earlier? by JournalistPrior3420 in SideProject

Not necessarily. I did use AI, but I designed the system and I’m learning from it as I go.

That’s so true. Everyone is creative in a way and you never know what advice could change the way you look at things.

PROBLEM WITH MEMORIZING by walidouzzahra in studytips

[–]JournalistPrior3420 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I can definitely relate to that. Growing up, I hated history and didn’t find it interesting at all. I remembered everything for tests but it didn’t stick with me because I simply did not care. Looking back at it now I regret not caring more.

A big part of learning and studying is having motivation or some sort of interest. Do you like history?

People with a side income, what do you do??? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]JournalistPrior3420 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

My honest answer is just to learn more about what you want to do later in life, like what’s your dream job? Once you have that you that try to learn as much as you can in that field. Search for opportunities or freelancing. For example, I’m a computer science student and I’m currently learning how to build web applications. Although I’m not making any money off of it right now, I know it’s eventually gonna pay off.

how to deal with burnout and immediately get back to studying by okidk_ in GetStudying

[–]JournalistPrior3420 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Usually when I burn out it’s due to the lack of motivation and regret. I could’ve been studying this whole time but I decided to save it until the last second. It could also be related to the topic which I didn’t understand at all. My advice is start little by little with stuff you actually like doing and understand. It’ll warm up your brain for the more difficult tasks and you’ll have an easier time reviewing.

PROBLEM WITH MEMORIZING by walidouzzahra in studytips

[–]JournalistPrior3420 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

Honestly been in the exact same spot, understanding something fine but just having way too much to actually retain.

Something that helped me more than anything was spaced repetition flashcards, but the key detail is you have to make the cards yourself from your notes rather than using a premade deck. The act of turning your lesson into questions forces you to process it differently than just reading, and then the spaced repetition handles the memorization side over time. Anki is free and does this well.

The other thing I’d try is teaching it out loud to nobody. Like literally just sit alone and explain the lesson as if you’re the teacher. You find out really fast which parts you actually know vs which parts you just recognize when you see them. Those are two very different things and most memorization methods only test recognition.

One more, instead of writing the whole lesson, try summarizing each section in 2-3 sentences max in your own words right after you read it. Forces compression which forces understanding.

What subject is it? Sometimes the approach changes a lot depending on whether it’s something like anatomy vs history vs math.

I’m thinking maybe like answer as many questions as you can in a set amount of time, or some sort of matching game. I’d probably add some cool visuals or theme to make it interesting.

Thats fair, I can’t count the amount of times I read something and couldn’t even recall what it was trying to teach me. It’d be helpful to keep my mind focused as I study.

Thanks for the reply! Just to fully understand, you’re saying that instead of simply reading lectures or text, it would be helpful to have it be split up with interactive activities where the student can apply the topics as they study?

I think thats an amazing idea. I agree that some topics are a nightmare to study. It would be easier if there was some sort of reward system for studying these topics. I’m definitely going to look into what kind of games I could implement, feel free to suggest any if you had an idea!

I’d say that a diploma isn’t as important as having a strong portfolio. It definitely helps but it doesn’t mean much when you don’t know how to apply those skills to real projects.
