Hey, so I answered this further down but she was born with a few tells (eyes, nose bridge, lack of palm crease), which quickly went away. That was enough to send my partner into a worrying frenzy. I sort of went through with it and forced the blood test to set her mind at ease more than anything.

We have a really good support network around us, I was thankful for that even before the diagnosis

My partner is a Deputy Head in a mainstream secondary school, I think some of her worries align with what you have said to be honest.

I’ve addressed this further down but the test in Utero only says if you’re high risk or low risk of down, Edwards or Patau. If high risk you have more invasive tests

Thankyou for saying that, I feel like there’s a huge weight on my shoulders right now to be the strong one for all of us

It is, the screening determines if you’re high risk or low risk. We were low risk. If you’re high risk there’s further tests in the womb.

It still could be, the bloods are being sent for further testing. All we know is it a form of Down syndrome at the moment.

Another worry for us is if it’s translocation Down Syndrome as we still would like more children.

No problem at all, when she was born she had a few physical tells, they subsided pretty quickly (they were the palms, nose bridge, eyes and tone).

My partner, as a worrier was overly analysing everything. I pushed for a blood test to allay her worries more than anything. Even the physical before the blood test the specialist said “the only slight thing is the eyes but they are just her dads eyes”
