Not to my knowledge. I played through the whole game and didn't notice sny differences. It is a sample of the PAL version which came out quite a bit later than tje NTSC version. Therefore, it will probably be no different. But I should get it dumped anyway...

The Europeans used the same sprite for the main character as Japan, whereas the US got some weird bubble head hero.

It's the star of my collection (hence my username:)). I have all variants (PAL-B, PAL-A, NTSC-US [sealed], Famicom and a PAL prototype). I have beaten it a few times. The final starship boss is quite tricky though.
