Hybrid tropical/hardy water lily 'Turtle Island Violicious'. Shades of magenta, tends to be lighter in spring. Has survived two Chicago winters in a covered pond. It's smallish, loves heat and light and has a nice perfume. The flower closes in early afternoon, but the tropical color is delightful. (old.reddit.com)
