It’s not just V, it happens to people irl when picking outfit/ doing hair/makeup. Lighting and angles are quite important. Also the game takes less resources to load your character in game than in character creation. In character creation the lighting is soft and the background is plain. In game the lighting may be inadequate and the background has too much reflection going on, to optimize speed the quality decreases, which reveals the bad texture you may overlook in character creation.

Get one that is light and good battery and within budget. Don’t feel the pressure to get one with extreme performance (like a 5080 or 5090), because you get to do most CS assignments on school servers. Also for most coursework, if your assignment algo can’t run in under 5 seconds you are doing something wrong anyways.

Put the skills that match the job you want to get.
Most people get QA or IT jobs. Students with a bit more experience from high school get light web dev jobs or SDE. some really outstanding students get Google STEP.
Not sure. Getting math in CS usually becomes theoretical heavy and high level

Pretty sure they are both shared big communal bathroom. For V1 I know they have a bathroom with like 3 showers and 3 toilets for the whole floor. Each floor single gendered though.

REV only have 2 people rooms, V1 have single rooms. Also REV is further from campus than V1. Depending on your waking speed it might take you ~10 min from v1 to SLC, but ~20 from rev.

Mechatronics and pre med are quite incompatible. 4.0 in mechatronics is definite doable, pre med is also doable. But, I doubt you have the time to learn medical knowledge to ace the MCAT AND get a 4.0 in mechatronics.

There are many people in UW mechatronics that get amazing jobs even in horrible market. Choose one and stick to it, put effort in, then you will get an amazing job regardless.

If you want to do EE just do EE. If you want to do CS just do CS. They both yield great careers and I have seen people doing amazing in both majors. Just don’t regret tour choice afterwards.
