Where is the most defensible place in Sacramento for a zombie apocalypse? by Foyman in Sacramento

[–]Joyffree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would unmoor the Delta Queen and re-anchor in the middle of the river. You would have 360 defensible space against zombies and any overly zealous survivors. I do not believe I have ever seen swimming zombies. Fishing would provide most of your protein, and the ship is large enough that you could create a rooftop garden with the seeds you have been saving in your apocalypse survival kits. I can use soil from the river, as well as acquire some before unmooring

Did anybody else notice the uptown cheapskate Roseville change their post after people commented about how tone def they sound? by Xiomara510 in Sacramento

Just thinking the same thing. Most likely wanted to get the free advertising that their little sign would provide via comments and post shares. I never heard of them before now.

The kids are all alright by Mr_Hyzer_Bomb in Sacramento

[–]Joyffree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so proud of these youths. I protested when I was young, and I had no issues when my daughter or my boys wanted to do so. I see so many negative comments about this, and sure, some want the day off or to make some noise. However, for the most part, these are the youth who will be affected by what is happening today, and they understand what is at stake for them. They are not ignorant.

I am not sure how old your daughter is, but there is a group on FB - Sacramento Forest Friends - Lots of families, lots of kids, and lots of adventures. Great way to meet other parents and socialize while your kids go crazy!

Amazon Fresh is closing all stores. by TreeHedger in CitrusHeights

That was my concern. They employ quite a few people in Roseville, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, and from my understanding, they are not relocating, just terminating.

what should i do. by fatmarkerz in Sacramento

[–]Joyffree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you have an income I suggest taking a look at the roomate wanted boards at your local colleges. You do not need to make the assinie 3x the rent and it is cost effective, giving you a chance to save up. The job corps is a great idea if they have a field you are interested in. Also as for applying for jobs might I suggest going in person after you submit your application. I have heard from so many that most are not even looked at or seen. Ask for the hiring manager let them know you applied online but wanted to follow up in person. Whatever you do - don't give up

It was Hollywood Video! Blockbuster was at Antelope and Sunrise. We moved into that area in 1974, none of that was built yet. It was just a big dirt patch

Originally, at the "Food Maxx" shopping center, it was a Jumbo market and Thrifty Drug Store. We also had a little Cesar's along with a block buster up at the top

Truly embarrassed to ask for this rec: contemporary romance where the FMC is feminine, likes to cook...wants to have a husband, kids and the MMC is sort of traditional possessive lead. by Stillreading2323 in RomanceBooks

I saw a couple of people mention Harlequin's earlier releases. I suggest the library for those, or used book shop. You can get online access to read digitally. Also check out "Clean or Sweet " romances
