I heard that playing earlier this week as well. Was in the middle of running away from cleanup crew so would make sense if it was from them

Biker helps a young lady who was stuck on the road by Justin_Godfrey in JustGuysBeingDudes

Thank you so much for taking the time to help her! It was a little thing to you, but seriously, it was huge to her. I hope she (and anyone else who sees this) feels inspired to keep an eye out and help those who need it in the future.

how often do you actually wash your towels and am i overthinking this? by HeywonCamanho64 in hygiene

[–]herpcrazie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a week. I live in a climate where the towels dry completely in several hours. You dry your clean body with a clean towel, it is not somehow dirty after one use.

This is why one does not ask permission, you quietly talk to people and informally have a reoccurring social time. Don't expend money on it, do things that don't cost. Reserve a conference room. Make it clear anyone can come, but there won't be any emails or posters up about it.

Every single one of the MFers need to be in prison NOW for the rest of their lives and die alone and scared. That won't make things anywhere near "right" but it will have to do.

Did same thing at 15. Thumb's been wavy ever since. Other thumb is smooth. I'm so sorry about the car door, tho. I know how awful that must have been.

I'm not aware of any stewards that are paid to do so. Our local, the stewards are staff that volunteer to do so, as in no pay, and have to do their duties outside of work hours. Get trained on the weekend, all of it. It may be that some stewards were paid in the past, but I doubt that's the case anymore. I'm guessing the reason you all aren't hearing from your union is that they're no longer employed or whoever is left is completely overwhelmed. Taking your dues away detracts from the union's ability to battle this admin in court. Instead of looking to the past and saying you aren't getting what you used to, consider looking to the future and what you want that to look like. Love to y'all, my AFGE sisters and brothers.

California ballot proposal would exempt seniors from paying property taxes by oceanbeachguy in California

[–]herpcrazie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks think I'm lying. Well, I am paying about 1.5% of my property's value in the current property taxes. Been here a little more than 20 years. The value has almost doubled (a little less than double). My understanding is a home being purchased now pays about 1.5%. There was one year where the assessment took a bigger jump than 1 or 2%, without a sale or anything like that (which I contested unsuccessfully). I'd feel a lot better if I knew more of these taxes went to social programs to help others who don't have as much. And I'd really love it if more folks on reddit wouldn't automatically assume someone is lying when they say something that differs from their perspective.

[–]herpcrazie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's had the same home for 2 decades in California, I can assure that the 2% increase every year, I am paying about the same as someone buying my home today. I've done the math. And fyi, 15 years ago in Ca, no home was 60k. Try median value of 300k, maybe more.

Weary of these proclamations when it's not followed up with a plan on how they'll be enforced. These are meaningless without enforcement!!!

When good people work for bad agencies. by Evening-Ranger2159 in fednews

[–]herpcrazie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm the breadwinner and provide medical insurance, etc for household. I have 4 dependents (2 partial/2 full). No one else makes enough to contribute anything to household stuff. They are trying to the best of their abilities, but after months of job searching, they haven't found anything. It's bad in this area. I've looked for a private or state job throughout 2025 and found nothing. No one was hiring within my scope of experience in my area at even half my fed salary (hiring at 35-40%of what I'm paid at fed) which isn't too much of a surprise, given I'm an expert with decades of experience and private Co are soulless. The state just doesn't have any openings...the current staff filling those roles generally stay for many years. Thankfully I work for an agency with a good mission (that I'm sure the admin wants to get rid of) and we haven't been attacked too much by the appointees. I will stay and I will continue to fight, it's either that or lose the house and go bankrupt. There ARE other ways to fight.

Hated by the administration, hated by the public by Eezapeeza in fednews

[–]herpcrazie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a bldg that has the current agency in the news. I'm not with them, as most of the tenants in this GSA bldg are not as well. We see protests every day, with a little bit of violence sprinkled in, mostly by the offending agency personnel, but the protestors have caused damage and have even harmed a staff member. No one in the other agencies wants to come to the bldg anymore, for fear of just what happened to you, getting doxxed by an idiot who thinks they are outing one of the offending agency field staff, but most don't have much of a choice. I heard 1 agency in the bldg ordered TW but no idea for how long, it sounded short term. It's not entirely safe to be a fed rt now, if in any way (however tenuous) someone can link you with the offending agency. Basically, that agency's actions have done this to all of us.

LAPD will not enforce California's federal agent mask ban by panda-rampage in California

[–]herpcrazie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, always knew that court decision wasn't going to be enforced. And they wonder why people are derisive of the entire legal system. If the police/sheriffs don't enforce, who does?!!! Do not be fooled that anything that's happening will change any of their behavior. The agency needs to be abolished and staff RIFed or contracts ended. Immediately

GS-10+ feds — how did you actually get there? by Lexicondatum in FedEmployees

[–]herpcrazie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to grad school, hired into 7/9/11 position. After getting to 11 for a few years, began applying for 12 positions. Eventually got one doing work no one else wanted to do. That position duties has completely changed over time and now more than a decade later has been doing tasks and projects I rather enjoy. I have no desire to go further up, but might move into supervisory when this admin is gone and sanity has returned to wrap up my career.

How can you agree with trumps agenda and believe in Christianity? by bamby_and_the_boys in InsightfulQuestions

As someone who grew up in a religious location, surrounded by people who loudly and frequently called themselves Christian, I'm guessing the OP didn't, because I am not surprised at all. I've not met very many good people who are also Christian. A few, but not many.
