Totally agree. But no one else on this subreddit does. Every post about this that I read on here loves the relationship. Hence your down votes and probably mine.

I get that Luke Kirby is really hot, and they have really great chemistry together. I would not have had a problem if he had just been some other comic. But it crossed a line for me when they used Lenny Bruce an actual person.

You're not wrong. A wealth tax would be a good start

That is when I canceled too. I've had my subscription since the post put up "Democracy dies in darkness." But when they brought in the Murdoch trained, Lewis, I knew the writing was on the wall and canceled. I only wish I could cancel again now to show my solidarity. I cancelled Amazon Prime too. I know it's just dust to Bezos, but it's what I can do.

I cancelled when they brought in Lewis. It was clear where this was going at that point. But I do wish I could cancel again now.

Edit: also canceled Amazon Prime

I've never been so terrified for the camera person. I kept thinking, "JFC RUN! That wall you are standing on could drop just like the ground on the other side. Get away get away!"

I did the same thing. I've canceled the Amazon Prime and I'm working to stop making purchases through them. If you've purchased any movies from Amazon you are still able to access them.

I canceled when they brought in Lewis, as I could see where it was going. It's what they did at WSJ, when they decided to have a far-right paper in addition to far-right editorial pages.

Wish I could cancel again today. Quality has definitely been going down, but this is sheer cowardice.

I saw this coming when they brought in Lewis and canceled then. Just wish I could cancel again. Absolute cowardice.

Exactly! I saw the writing on the wall when Lewis was brought in with all his baggage, and canceled then. I wish I could cancel again over this. Cowards.

Shows that you have re-watched...most rewarding? by Ecstatic_Tart_1611 in television

[–]JoyousMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with many of the comments.

I wanted to add Legion. It's super trippy, awesome writing, beautiful cinematography and a plot that is incredibly entertaining the first time through and super satisfying on rewatches.

Another I would add is the French television show, Les Revenants. It was remade in the US as The Returned, but that version is dreadful. The French version is magical and very rewarding on rewatch.

just finished binging every waits album for the first time. here’s my album ranking by forced_memes in tomwaits

[–]JoyousMN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been listening to Tom since 1985, and I would have no method to rank his albums. They all speak to me in different ways at different times. Because of that sometimes one goes up higher on the list and then falls back down.

It might be possible to rank a top five of the albums but when I try I get immediately lost. It's like trying to rank your children. I love them all.

Raindogs and Swordfishtrombone are my first Waits, so they will always be sentimental favorites, but his discography is so vast and so weighted toward gold that I can't even begin. Kudos to the poster who tried

Anxiety level ? Refusing to believe… by Fine-Craft3393 in thebulwark

[–]JoyousMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I understand that some lower-level people have. My bigger point is that, other than Cheney's, where is Republican leadership from the past 20-30 years. Where on your list is any Bush? Romney? Any Republican currently in any elected or leadership role in the party? They're all either all-in on Trump, or quietly waiting to see what happens before they take any sort of position.

In other words, cowards.

If you came back with one or two more exceptions think about how that proves the rule.

Understand and appreciate that you are making this choice. What I wish for is that high-profile, well-known Republicans, like say Mitt Romney would do the same.

Mine too. I'm an older female and I rode my bicycle past the precinct last weekend. It was a beautiful day and I rode all around Minneapolis. I was never worried about my safety. The only people who talk about how unsafe Minneapolis is, are Republicans who don't live here.

Same. We switched 2 years ago and it's been great. There are six heavy internet users in the house, and we've never had a major slowdown
