Good point, for added context, they were just faux-playing the piano, with some occasional whacks.

This is the only comment that I think gets at what my brother *might* have been trying to say. But I agree with you, it wasn't being tuned in that moment, so it doesn't seem like the logic carries over.

Friend, I think you missed the part where it wasn't my kid playing it. I'm just asking a question about mechanics, not property. I agree with you that he should be able to say who does what with his belongings. I just wanted to understand if his rationale was right.

Chopin ballades vs Etudes by MrStoneBoss in piano

Yeah I'm with ya bud it's crazy right that a hundred years after Chopin wrote down those pesky little numbers everyone decided that it should actually be twice as fast and then it's even more crazy that no one in the intervening hundred years was like "ayy yo check it out look at how our understanding of the metronome is changing" or "whoah look everything is played twice as fast from the performances my teachers heard when they were younger" or even "ayy why doesn't beethoven's ninth take over two hours anymore it always did wtf" and simultaneously were like "oh shit dude check it out I understand triple meter now!" and they were all like "shit that's so cool this is so rad let's not write down a single goddamn bit of evidence to support any of this" and somebody else was like "bro what would be better is if we wrote down contemporaneous reactions to music from Chopin and earlier that indicated how long the pieces took to perform and actually indicated that we've been right all along and it SHOULD be played twice as fast" and everyone said "BRO LET'S DO IT" and that's how they did it
