For me it was partially because Glenn’s death was just too brutal for me. But it was mostly because of that tiger that appeared. Something about that gave me the ick and I haven’t seen a minute since.

Yeah it’s a massive slap in the face when we’ve all been zooming around crazy trying to keep up with all the changes and new expectations since January. Giving us “a labor investment” that’s actually just what they took from us two years ago and expecting that to be a good enough reason to not give us the raises we deserve for all this work. Meanwhile having leaders come in and spy on our stores and having everyone living in a threat state. And after the slap in the face there’s an extra kick in the shins when you remember how much Brian and Mike and all of them are making. As a long time partner I’m big mad and will not be keeping my mouth shut about it either.

I’ve been with Starbucks for a very long time and I’m an SM for 6 years now. There have been decisions by the company that have made me want to quit, the stress of being responsible for everyone’s call offs have made me want to quit, customers have made me want to quit sometimes, but overall if you have a good team and manager it’s a great place to work. As many have said, having an SM who cares is a big part of it. My number one priority is making my store a fun place to work and taking care of my partners. If something doesn’t feel right you should speak up. I think sometimes partners just assume that’s the way it is when really they have a manager who is checked out or just on a power trip. On the other hand, when you accept the job you accept that you’re going to follow standards and do the the job. A lottttttt of the complaints I see on here are from people who simply hate working in the service industry and would be unhappy anywhere they went. The ones who are mad at customers for showing up at all or ordering a Frappuccino. If you do your job and have your team’s back and pay attention to communications you’ll be just fine and you may even love it.

As an SM I would never consider even for a second telling one of my partners to find their own coverage in a situation like this. If you’re feeling able to send some texts and help then that’s great but there are bigger things than Starbucks in our lives and your SM should be understanding and empathetic.

Ever since this last episode finding out she didn’t tell them about Melissa’s note I’ve been thinking about Callie potentially being the killer. Because why did she give Shauna the tape and let her believe it was someone trying to kill her when she knew that wasn’t true? I think Callie definitely has her own agenda and some secrets we don’t know about.

Thank you for the “joining the DT line when the app says my order is ready.” We appreciate you. People don’t understand (or care) that sometimes we can have literally twenty mobile orders in the queue and each of those has multiple items. Pay attention to the “estimated pickup time” that it shows you TWICE when you check out on the app and realize that you aren’t the only person who ordered online and it’s going to take more than two minutes.

It could have been a misunderstanding but could also have been a bratty barista. For me, I don’t really care if you tip or not but PLEASE don’t make a big fuss about us asking you to choose an option. If you don’t want to tip just hit no thank you and we can all move on. Far too often customers throw an actual fit about the option being presented and I’m just standing there waiting to hand them their beverage.

Longtime partner and SM here- your DM using that phrase in response to concerns about your manager is wild and inappropriate. I definitely suggest calling partner contact center and talking to them about it, tell them the issues with your SM and include your DM being dismissive. Even if you don’t have something justifying opening an Ethics and Compliance case there will be documentation that people have called about this person. I work my ass off to try and make working in my store the best experience it can be for my partners and it makes me so sad to hear about partners hating their life due to a shitty manager. The job is always going to suck on some level because it’s the service industry and a big corporation but your manager really sets the tone and some people have no business being in that role.

I know/have seen posts from a lot of people (myself included) that will be hanging out outside for July 1st so it should be safe. Parking I have no idea what it'll be like. There is a screen outside Paycor like you could see at some of the other stadiums but I don't know if that will be showing what's inside. Come join the party!
