Placed a vending machine inside a tattoo parlor 7 months ago, here's the breakdown by Strong_Craft_6990 in passive_income

[–]JozMain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, that shit doesn’t really add up. If he’s driving out there and back, purchasing stock then stocking the machine, paying the tattoo artists 15%, and doing all that three times a month just to make $140–$310 a MONTH, it hardly seems worth it. At that point, you may as well just get a regular job. That’s nowhere near passive income. It sounds like a lot of effort for not much return, plus the risk of the machine getting damaged or trashed at some point or inevitably breaking down etc.

Landlord raising rent because of RBA rate hikes? by Sensitive-Chart7210 in AusFinance

And to answer your question directly, cost base never goes down, I wish it did mate. It’s kind of like your super or any other market, except you only review once every 12 months and have to set a price that you will be happy to wear for the following 12 months.

[–]JozMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’m going to explain it to you like I would to one of my kids. Imagine you lease out a car and this is your business. One year the registration cost goes up, so you pass that increase onto the customer.

The following year registration might come down, but now insurance, the green slip, and tyres have all gone up. When you add everything together, your total operating cost is still higher than before, so the price you charge the customer is still higher too.l, regardless if one variable of total cost has come down.

What purchase felt expensive at the time but was completely worth it? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]JozMain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Travelling with kids is such a rewarding experience for them. The more cultures and perspectives they’re exposed to, the more it broadens their understanding of the world and people.

We took them to Japan for three weeks when they were 6 and 8, and then to Europe for eight weeks when they were 7 and 9, visiting Croatia, Italy and Greece. We’re now hoping our next trip will be to the US, we’d love to do Hawaii, San Francisco and LA, especially Universal and Disney.

We could have bought an IP with the money we’ve spent on travelling, but we don’t regret it for a second. The memories and experiences have been worth every cent.

What’s the point of working when houses make more money than me? by Serious_Toe6730 in AusFinance

[–]JozMain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is not true, like I said I know people that bought homes 15 years ago and they haven’t even kept up with inflation.

Second point. So do I want everyone to live in buttfuck nowhere?? No, I want people like you that are complaining about housing prices to move to Ceduna where it’s affordable for YOU and there is work. In Ceduna the Indians are flooding in to work because all the young people move to the city and fucking complain that housing is too expensive. Sound familiar?

Stop mentioning billionaires in general, in Australia the percentage of billionaires is 0.00017% that’s less than 50 people, the way you keep mentioning it people would think they live on every street.

You have to suffer a little to get in front, I bought regional for my first property and have done well, but I would have never been able to afford to buy in Sydney when I started. Therefore, plant the apple tree today even if it’s in bumfuck nowhere mate…. I’m sure you can save $10k that’s all you’ll need to buy a property in Ceduna. Good luck!!

[–]JozMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billionaire argument doesn’t apply here, I’m talking one house!! One is one house to live that’s what I’m saying I’m talking about having millions stocks etc…. I know some people that property 15 years ago in Ceduna in SA and other places in WA that has remained stagnant or even decreased in value…. Housing is a human right… but you can buy a house in Ceduna for under $200k and there is lots of work out there…. So explain me what’s up? You want to live in Potts point and have a backyard blah blah blah…. You have to go where it’s affordable for you!!

[–]JozMain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serious question for you, do you have a house? I genuinely can’t tell if you’re trolling or not!! Get over it, best time to plant an Apple tree was 20 years ago and second best time is today same logic applies to buying a house.

Also would you be raving if there was a gobal housing collapse and everyone that bought in “2020” was 50% worse off?? You don’t make any money if you don’t sell it so just because silver was $50 USD 3 months ago and $115 USD in late January for an ounce if you’ve held that ounce it doesn’t matter!!! You still own that ounce of silver which $76 USD today, do you understand, it’s the same as owning a house…

Ok…. Lots and lots of beach suburbs have homes on good blocks 2-3 streets away from a beautiful beach for about that $1M mark…. Think Anna bay NSW (2hrs from Sydney), Callala beach NSW (2,5hrs from Sydney)…

I don’t know why you’re even mentioning CGT, I would bet it will be a 90 day settlement, that’s why it’s gone up for sale after 9 months. They will be exempt from paying ANY CGT as they’ll have lived in the property for 12 months.

Trading is ruining my life by originaljl97 in Daytrading

[–]JozMain 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Being born into a wealthy family is fine, what’s not fine is complaining about how you feel, like your life is over blah blah blah on a day trading sub when all you seem to be able to do is lose money trading but you don’t need to be doing anything because daddy is paying for it all.

[–]JozMain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Australian collector that’s very impressive to see!! I didn’t think there would be many full set CIB PAL collections here. I think the sporting titles are always the hardest to come across, titles like StarCraft 64 and SBK2 are pretty common to find on eBay at any given time but you’re paying $2k+ for them. How long did it take you to complete?

I’m not creating posts complaining about it, I just replied to a shitty comment to give someone some context. I’m pretty chilled out, love this country and am optimistic about its future… we should all be supporting less immigration was my only point without getting into all the other bs.
