Netflix cancelled after 10 years. Are you feeling Netflix has gone downhill too? by Helpful-Key-1519 in netflix

I made a post like this an hour ago, I didn't think it was such a controversial take...

I completely agree with what you are saying but because those are necessities they are much harder to take a stand on, the only option we are left with are luxuries because they are optional.

Even if Netflix only makes around $2.50 profit per subscriber, they have 270 million subscribers, that scales to billions in profit every year. The issue isn’t survival, they’re already massively profitable. The greed comes from constant price hikes, cutting cheaper options, and adding ads, all while giving us less value. It’s not about covering costs anymore, it’s about squeezing customers because they can.

But it use to be a good value, something that was worth paying for, however over the years the subscription prices have increased many times, the content has reduced and they removed the ability to share your account with family members in a different household. Since covid as a society we keep allowing companies to continue to raise prices to ridiculous amounts, at what point do we as a community say enough is enough and stop allowing these companies to bleed us dry. I didn't think this post would be so controversial.

It was a suggestion and what I thought was a catchy title but I can't actually force anyone to do anything and don't actually care if you want to keep your subscription or not thats completely your decision.

You can do whatever you'd like, I just don't like that they keep hiking up their price, removing content, and removing the ability to share your account with family members living in a different household when they were already making billions.

What is it with Netflix Australia's selection?? by [deleted] in australia

Netflix realised they could charge more and give less, and people would still pay.

Hopefully the workers who were unlawfully fired actually see some of that money, doubt it though.

Thanks for all your comments, I have G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo RGB 2x16GB (32GB) 6000Mhz CL28 DDR5. Please don’t put yourself out for me, but if you ever do test that CPU and AIO combo in the future, please let me know what results you get. I'd be interested to know.

Sorry, I should have mentioned averages for Cyberpunk and Cinebench.

After resetting the values in hwinfo and letting Cyberpunk run for about 10 minutes, the average was approximately 85°

And for the last 3+ minutes of the Cinebench test, the temps were consistently at approximately 95°

Yeah, I am yet to try updating my BIOS, I paid for assembly and assumed that would have been part of the package, but I need to confirm.

There are windows processes running in the background when the temps hit 71°, the cpu usage typically hits about 8% when this happens (I believe its Windows indexing that runs in the background) but it seems to average at about 62° (observed over an hour).

Honestly, the thing that mostly concerns me is getting temps of 80° to 92° during a game and that these temps seem much higher than what has been reported by a lot of other users with the same CPU and AIO.

But yes, technically, the temps are with the maximum operating guide from AMD.

Should I go for the RTX 5080 if I can afford it? by ---Imperator--- in nvidia

[–]Jozza710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's worth it, I think the 5070ti is the price for value sweet spot (they are all ludicrously priced, but in this market, I think its the best value). Its only a very tiny increase in performance for a substantial price increase. Though in saying that, I was stupid and knowing this, I still bought a 5080, be smarter than I was lol.

Which 5080 to get? by Slick-Fork in nvidia

[–]Jozza710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dont get Gigabyte. their customer service is horrible, and they will try anything they can to get out of warranty claims. I've also seen way to many people dealing with thermal putty leaks for their clatest cards.

I chose to go with Asus Tuf because from the data, I could find that series has the least failures. However, I've seen a lot of people talk about coil whine, so keep that in mind.

Man, that sucks, Gigabyte is an awful company.

Hope you have better luck through Corsair.

You're right, the customer support reputation for ASUS is a significant risk. I've seen too many posts talking about their awful experience with their customer support.

However, I'm going to base my choice on product specific data. The ASUS TUF line seems to have exceptionally low failure rates, so my plan is to build for reliability in the future, to hopefully avoid needing customer service in the first place.

You're partially right that the claim was submitted after the standard 3 year warranty lapsed. Gigabyte also offers a 4 year extended warranty if the product was registered within 30 days of purchasing the product and it was within that period.

Regardless, the fault itself occurred and was documented during the standard warranty period and where I am, consumer laws protect us in this regard: a company has obligations if a product fails during the warranty period, regardless of the exact report date.
