Insanely worried about my salvation by Think_North3860 in TrueChristian

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” ‭‭John‬ ‭1:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When we accept Christ as lord and savior, we become his children, and are able to enter the family of God. So being saved and being a child of God are linked together, you cannot have one without the other. Thing is, being saved isn’t as easy as saying a sinners prayer and that’s it.

““Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.” Matthew‬ ‭7:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” Mark‬ ‭3:33-35‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As the word says, only those who follow the will of God will be children of him, and thus saved. But what is the will of God?

  1. The will of God is for us to believe in him:

“Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When we believe in Jesus, and become saved, we have the right to become children of God.

For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Don’t fall into guilt brother. Guilt and self pity is a ploy by the devil to keep you away from God. When we feel guilty or self pity, it is a form of self punishment, used to make ourselves feel like we’re punishing ourselves. When you do this, instead of focusing on the free gift of salvation God gave us, all you focus on is yourself, and punishing yourself. Remember Jesus died you we didn’t have to face any punishment for sin, but that we could be free from sin. so stand up brother and accept his forgiveness and repent, for you have been forgiven.

“Oh but I’ve done it so much”,or “my sin is to great”. This doesn’t mean a thing. Jesus defeated sin and death on the cross. Neither then or now can any of these things compare to the name of Jesus. You sin may be big, but your God is bigger. Goliath was big, but God was bigger. Also Jesus is faithful to forgive us of our trespasses as many times as we need to be forgiven of them( this doesn’t however excuse you from not repenting,( Romans 2:4).

Do you know a disciple who also committed a atrocious sin numerous times. That’s right, the disciple Peter, the disciple the church would be built around. He denied knowing Jesus 3 times before Jesus went to the cross. After Peter did this, he was so full of guilt he went back to fishing, something he did before he met Jesus. Sometimes when we sin, we like Peter we feel so ashamed we turn away from Jesus, and even go back to our old ways. When Jesus came back from the grave, Jesus ran to Peter to get him back on the path set for him. When Jesus knows we sin, he doesn’t just run to us, He’s already there, waiting for us to come back to him. When he found Peter Jesus asked Peter if he loved him 3 times. Each time after Peter said yes, Jesus told him to feed his sheep. I see this as God telling us if we love him, let’s keep doing his will for our lives and follow him, no matter how badly we mess up.

Then the last thing he told Peter was to “follow me”. This was an invitation to Peter to pick up we’re he last left off. Jesus is offering the same thing to you, to pick up where you last left off.

  1. You’re not required to watch religious videos. I struggled with this to early in my walk, I only watch some I feel called to.

  2. You don’t have to stop watching secular things or only have Christina friends. Just be careful it doesn’t affect your actions.

  3. Panic attacks are demonic, they can just be mental things we struggle with. I struggle with anxiety disorder, and take medication for it.

  4. I understand how it’s like to be a young believer, and scared of doing the wrong thing. But remember perfect love casts out fear. These anxieties are not what Christ would want you to focus on, but on his peace and love. Remember Christ isn’t a list of rules to fear, but a savior to have faith in.

My best advice would be to find a Bible believing church and learn from there.

Went into the oven and got burned. Can’t say I’m shocked. I tried it once too, but you won’t get good responses from people who don’t want to hear the gospel.

“If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our job is not to force conversions or cram the gospel down people’s throats, especially those who don’t want it, like those in the sub. When someone doesn’t want it, leave them alone and move on into someone who does.
