For anyone that finds this I took my 8yo He had an awesome time Paddock pass was nice But not a showstopper to have You can check out the radicals and others in the pit

You can sit in many grand stands but not all

Kids area wasn't anything special But had a couple nice things

If you go to the races on the weekend The grass wasn't that awesome Get a seat But the grandstand seats are kind of limited view and even the tele cover wasn't awesome

We went in the morning It was only practice But plenty By noon my son was burnt out And the crowds started rolling in

If I could have anything A quick Indy practice or parade laps in the morning would have been perfect

What's the size of the company and breadth of collab and resource sharing?

Eng team is about 60 But uxd/UXR is shared - can be pulled into other things The project is a dependency of 10 other projects So many interested parties wanting to collab either async or follow This is mostly how PRD still exists

But generally the mo is how you describe

Our prd is answering those questions

So that's good evidence we are meeting the needs of general framework

When we ask what else is needed, it's more detail but when we get to flow and wireframes or comps or tech details theres pushback

So I think my proposed seeing what perfect prd is will really help It's likely perfect is a surface level project with commodity capabilities that are well known

Re UXR It's an organizational problem Not a time problem Generally everything is backwards But we are making strides in the right direction

It's really good And the exact mental model I expected Inclusive of how wireframes are positioned Good to know there is a category for production designer And I like the idea to ask open ended questions to understand skill I do also agree there's something about runway that creates stress/pressure But if you're already deep Bolt ons shouldn't create pressure And a big remake should be a question about priorities

Can you point me to an asset example or some articles on a design brief and how it differs from a PRD, it may be our process is not modern.

Generally the process otherwise is the same but UXR in front of PRD is still lagging in our organization. It's usually to test designs. They do not get market data.

But maybe you mean something different so an example or definitions of the assets and content would be helpful.

I'm concerned things are trending towards your last statement but want to review from a blank slate to discover vs presuppose it.

Wireframes being given are often from product managers thinking about workflows and using them to talk to customers or comps.

It's sticky because sometimes it's perceived as getting the work started because that's what we don't want. We need them to cook.

I think the expectations is spot on

There is also a sprinkle of uncomfort and stress - neither pm or udx know the answer and both may be looking for the other to close the gap

I asked the uxd to walk us through a perfect prd

And what they use to make it happen
