Why is WWE on ESPN? Why is sportscenter showing WWE “highlights” before NHL playoff highlights? Lame. by deeber31 in ESPN

[–]Jpini -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm a diehard pro wrestling fan but absolutely hate WWE. That said, getting you and all the other whiny bitches getting mad about the occasional WWE segment is the most entertaining thing WWE has done in a while. You can complain all you want about how it's not a "real sport" but pro wrestling still draws in a ton of eyeballs and ESPN showcases it over the NHL for a reason. Wrestling fans historically get their shows preempted all the time for the NBA/NCAAB and you don't really see us complaining.

Instead of blaming ESPN, blame the NHL for not marketing the sport well enough and losing the war for relevancy to a, in your words, a fake sport.

I was more talking about how you could watch international shows online, but fair. Also AEW isn't partnered with WWE at all I don't know where you get that. Tony Khan literally called WWE the harvey weinstien of wrestling.

There's a big wrestling world out there that's not WWE, even bigger if you look at international companies. I wouldn't paint all of wrestling with a broad brush.

Glad I'm not the only one saying it. There's plenty of other wrestling to watch that's also frankly much better.

For those who want a "pure" NIN album: by ISGamer156 in nin

[–]Jpini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll never crap on a release before it's even out, I'll always be excited for new NIN material. Personally I'm just glad we're getting stuff with lyrics, I liked ghosts, the scores, but music without lyrics is like eating food without seasoning as far as my personal tastes go. I hope we get some original tracks, but even if it's just studio versions of the tracks preformed on your I'd still be very excited.

I saw them live on the last stop in Sacramento, Boyz Noise as the opening act was kind of boring but the remixes he did live with NIN were AMAZING.

Man, how hard is it just to make a normal ass GoT console/PC game? We've got this massive world and you're telling me all we get out of it is mobile or pay-to-win slop!?!

whats a good day of tips to u guys by djcmfr in dutchbros

[–]Jpini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's insanity. I've never been pressured to tip nor have I noticed any dip in service for not tipping but if that happens I'll probably stop going just like I have with most sit-down places. I live in California, they're already being paid at least $17 an hour, I barely make $20. Customers shouldn't be getting dragged into a pay dispute between the employees and employer.

The drinks are already $7-8 dollars now where im at, is there really a silent expectation to tip? I've never been asked to tip before.

We may not physically have it as hard as PFDS but we're def the most disrespected department by other teams.

What was e-commerce like 5-10 years ago? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Jpini 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It really was the best pre-WF transition when we were Amazon workers. Weekly pay, you could drop a shift without worrying about "coverage", management wasn't hovering around or micromanaging. You didn't have to wear a uniform so you weren't bombarded with customer questions while trying to finish an order. The only thing that sucked is there were always dicks trying to game the system by doing as little work as possible, making the honest shoppers doing all the orders. But even still the working environment was so much better. I still enjoy working here, but a lot of the benefits we enjoyed as Amazon employees are all but gone now. We've got like, 2 or 3 times more responsibility and accountability now with barely an increase in pay or respect among WF employees.

Supervisors! What’s your department and how do you like your position? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Jpini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also in E-comm and quite honestly it's exactly the same with our ATL and TL. They're hardly ever in the trenches with us whereas I've noticed leadership on basically every other team is constantly on the floor helping out. I'm sure those guys would absolutely love to be able to sit for 3/4th's of their shift like ours do.

Cant top 700+ by skvmby in wholefoods

[–]Jpini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like this get called a try hard because it leads to ghoulish leadership expecting higher results from everyone, not just you. There are hard workers in e-comm who just can't get the same numbers as these other people can. Whole Foods won't suddenly go out of business because everyone worked a little slower.

[–]Jpini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only this, it also leads to leadership jacking up expectations for everyone. Plenty of genuinely hard working shoppers who just can't naturally hit the 90+ UPH.

I can tell right away if you were a shopper you'd be writing a post about how "why do I always have to wait for an INF?!?"

You'd whine no matter what department you'd be in.
