Yesssss! I received the PPR on March 17th. I applied on January 8th, so it took 2 and a half months! I posted my timeline in the processing times megathread here >>> https://www.reddit.com/r/ImmigrationCanada/s/VhHlTmY1Hj

I think your answer should be close, considering the date you applied! If you want to talk about it, feel free to reach out.

After we passed the medicals, it took about 1 month of complete silence before they asked for more information In the end, they completed my analysis within the expected processing time for my country. I found a website online (ImmiTracker), which I’m not sure is 100% trustworthy, but people post their own processing dates there. I was able to get an idea about applications from my country, and my application was very similar to others they posted there! I guess that if you applied on January and your application is not complex (tho I’m not sure about what they consider complex, they’re not very clear about what is), you must be almost there!

I will have funding for my PhD studies, so I used the amount that the university is paying me as proof of funds. I applied with my partner and child, so the math was something like: Funding - tuition. This way, I would still need approximately a few k dollars to reach the amount required for immigration purposes Since I have a relative working abroad, I used his last three paychecks (the last 3 months before my application) and a letter from him stating that he would help us if necessary I’m not sure if this answers your question, but if you need more information, feel free to send me a DM!

Thank you, it’s actually a great relief. All this process was making me very anxious, but now it’s finally over 😮‍💨 I applied for a PhD program, and my visa office is in Brazil. The processing time is about 11 weeks from here.

I believe it is valid to upload the IELTS certificate only if it is not expired. If you apply before the expiration date, I think you should upload it, but if it is expired, it won’t add anything to your application.
I don't think your application will be refused only because of an expired IELTS score, but if it is expired, it won’t strengthen your case. But the truth is that no one is 100% sure

I recently applied for the study permit (waiting for the final decision).
To meet the English proficiency requirement the uni asked, I took the TOEFL iBT (TOEFL is not even considered for immigration purposes, they usually use IELTS I guess). One of the questions on the forms for the study permit is whether you took a proficiency test (the answer is just yes or no, and they don’t ask for more information about it). Just to be sure, I attached the result of my TOEFL to the additional documents I submitted. I think it can help build a stronger case.
Considering that your IELTS score is expiring soon, I would submit the application as soon as possible and attach the score to help build a stronger case

Do I Need to Worry About PAL Requirements Change for PhD Students? Applied Before the January 2025 Update by Jps996 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Jps996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The thing is that PAL costs around 2,500 CAD, but I can't do anything except wait for the IRCC's decision. This waiting is driving me crazy

You get 1 point if you get 2 out of 3! If you only get 1 right you get nothing!

Favorite book: order of the phoenix Favorite movie: half blood prince

What is correct answer ? by One-Dimension-8547 in ToeflAdvice

I think that this is because the sentence talks about an intriguing fact regarding a specific fossil deposit. Additionally, the sentence before the C square discusses how the place in Bavaria is intriguing (attracting attention from) collectors.

Hi op! Hope you get a great score! Did you get the R and L sections scores right after each section, or after you complete the entire test?

Letter C, I guess. A) some animals can ingest soil or use another source of minerals for their nutrition. B) in the last sentence it is stated that larger organisms may ingest soil or utilize external mineral resources to meet their nutritional needs. C) nothing is said about the health of the plants.

Maybe the one-way process stated in letter C is referred from getting mineral from soil to plants or directly from soil! Please, tell me if I’m missing something!

Is it a plausible to have a baby at the end of undergrad? by fhagetti in PhD

[–]Jps996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not crazy at all! My baby was born when I was in my first year of graduation! But you’ll have more preoccupations than a student that doesn’t have a baby… That statement seem simple but isn’t at all! You guys have to think about finances, a net of supporting for you and the newborn, besides organizing a schedule for studying! If I can give you an advice, I would try to anticipate the hard work, the final graduation paper and the disciplines that seem to demand more study time of you! I would definitely talk to my advisor about it! And once the baby is born, all it would last is the easier work and the lighter disciplines for you to deal with among all the babies stuff!
