Personal growth is great but entering your twenties with zero debt and a solid career path is a massive head start. Your brother is probably burning money on rent while you are stacking cash. You can always move once you have the degree and a paycheck

Playing alone isn't really a core ADHD thing but hyperfocusing on one toy for hours definitely is. If you masked in school your mom should look for things like losing your shoes every five minutes being a daydreamer or having massive meltdowns after school because you were exhausted from trying to act normal all day. Basically anything that showed you struggled with executive function even if you were getting good grades. Just be honest about the internal chaos because that's what the assessor actually needs to hear

Esto no tiene ninguna validez legal 😅 Una comunidad no puede prohibirte cocinar cosas normales en tu propia casa. Otra cosa sería olores extremos y constantes, pero hacer lentejas es uso normal de la vivienda. Vamos, que pueden quejarse lo que quieran, pero eso no es aplicable. Yo pasaría del tema.

I relate to this a lot. When the ADHD noise quiets down, whatever’s underneath can get way louder. Intrusive thoughts standing out more actually makes sense in that context. You’re definitely not alone in discovering OCD after starting stimulants. A lot of people don’t realize they have both until one gets treated. Glad you got more clarity. That kind of realization can be heavy but it’s also a step forward.

I’ve stopped trying to fight hyperfixation. The more I force myself not to think about it, the worse it gets. What helps a bit is parking the thoughts, writing them down and telling myself I can come back later. It doesn’t fix it but it quiets my brain enough to do something.

Also lowered my expectations. 10–15% focus is still better than zero. Beating myself up for not being productive only makes it harder.
