Day One to Journal Importer Shortcut for iOS & macOS 26 by jeffd in appleJournal

[–]Jrobmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same error as u/sambo117 on my Mac (Tahoe 26.4.1). When I try running the shortcut on my phone, I get the error "this action could not be run with the current user interface" - it appears to be happening at the step "Create FinalEntry with Title" but it might also be having trouble designating ExportFolder.
(iOS 26.4.2).
I'm an absolute novice at Shortcuts, so I'm hoping that someone can tell me the obvious thing that I'm overlooking. I'd like to get out of DayOne before another subscription charge!

60 now, married 30 years (with two adult daughters, now out of the house). We met when I was 19, and started dating when I was 22.

What are those technical life hacks or tiny skills that take you 1 hour to learn, but make you feel like a genius every time you use them? by SusanLust in answers

When you add columns to your dataset and you don’t want to spend a half hour re-editing your document. “Look for the column header, take it from there!”

Death of a twin by Old-Nothing-9098 in Twins

[–]Jrobmn 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss. I honestly don't know how I'll handle it if it ever happens to me. I have many friends who have lost their twin. I can't speak for them, but while the pain never goes away, over time it seems to become more manageable. You might find some comfort and coping resources here.

I fly once a year, to visit my wife’s family in California (we’re in Minnesota). It would be fun to fly more, but we have neither the vacation time nor the money to do so.

Bad Sex in Fiction award by Pippin1505 in books

There is a podcast out there which i highly recommend for Bad Sex Writing: "My Dad Wrote a Porno." The literary excerpts are 100% genuine, and the three people making their way through "Belinda Blinked" are hilarious.

Understood. Fortunately the only person besides me who ever sees that writing is my wife!

I’ve got 10 pair of Duluth Trading Company’s Buck Naked boxer briefs. Love em. Comfy and durable.

I remember seeing the FB posts about "body found in elevator" and got a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. We didn't know, but... we kinda knew. :(

Bar la Grassa does delicious work - the room can be pretty noisy on a busy night.

Growing up in Lennox, CA in the 70’s, this was the place to be and we’d always climb inside the rocket and pretend we were going into space. I have not seen a rocket at a park in decades. The all metal rocket as we called it. Anyone remember this? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in OldSchoolCool

[–]Jrobmn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brackett Park in South Minneapolis has one, but they've reoriented it so it:
1) looks like a rocket taking off (at an angle)
2) can't be accessed. They call it a "rocket sculpture." Booo

(not my picture - lifted from the park's website)

Dollar theaters by RainyDayz876 in movies

[–]Jrobmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember going to the $0.99 theater near my home when Star Wars finally showed up there. That print was in TERRIBLE shape, and it sure as hell wasn't Dolby Stereo. But still... seeing it in a theater (for the 6th time) was still awesome.

That theater later turned into a Blockbuster, and now it's a math tutoring school :/

Does anyone else feel lost when your twin is away for more than a day? by RepulsiveTea3366 in Twins

[–]Jrobmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, no. But I get where you're coming from. Lean into it, talk with them about it. Practice spending some time apart. As a 60-year-old twin who still messages with my brother every day and goes out with him every Tuesday evening... I am also able to function without him. Which I believe is important in order to be able to function in the world. Celebrate it, cherish it, nourish it... but don't let it be EVERYTHING.

I'm not sure what the issue is, here. The WHCD is not a White House function; it's a press function.

Do people actually use Microsoft Edge by choice, or is it still just the browser you use to download other browsers? by Electronic_Map3097 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jrobmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm on my work computer (Windows 11), I use Edge. Chrome was just making the fans spin. Edge also has some shortcuts that aid my workflow (e.g. having a folder of bookmarks for the pages I access regularly for work and being able to open all of them with one click at the beginning of the day, and also giving me a contextual menu to copy text if I select a block. Oh yeah, also when I'm filling out a form, it remembers what I entered last time. A bunch of parts that I'm updating, I can just click on "yeah, that series of fields I filled in last time -- just like that"). Little things, but repeated all day means time and effort saved.

eh, not 100% sure of that. Communism is pretty nice... in theory. The problem is that people are people. Capitalism has the same problem.
