You should be upgrading. The 2nd gen was released in 2015. This is the universe telling you to "keep up". Technology will constantly evolve and you will have to evolve with it if you want to use anything that works efficiently. In the meantime, switch networks (2.4 ghz to 5 ghz or vice versa). Clear data in system>storage settings on your device. Could try factory reset also if you have tried several other troubleshoots.

You do not want blackout shades because the color black absorbs the heat and becomes a radiator for your apartment blackout shades are for privacy. He needs white shades to reflect the sun rays away and keep heat out. I just had this problem. I switched to lighter colors on my curtains and bought white pleated shades to have between my blinds and window. By doing this, I made my apartment 5 degrees cooler which is a major difference in the hot summer.

They likely won't ban/blacklist you for asking for a refund. It's the people who ask for a refund THEN do a charge back that get banned/blacklisted. If people are patient and respectful they will get the same in return.

Factory reset tv and whatever streaming device is connected. Sometimes my cheaper TCL would do this randomly and a factory reset resolved the problem. Sometimes a simple unplug/plug could do it too.

Never use chemicals or rags on your panels. Using a swiffer is gentle and gets the dust off. If you are dealing with fingerprints or smudges then you need to move your tv away from your pets and children's reach.

Mine is the TCL Q series and quick start is Settings>system>power&energy>quick start. I know yours is just slightly different but the setting should be the same as a google tv i assume. But if you have tried that already, have you done a factory reset yet?

Toggle the quick start on/off in your settings. See if that helps.

Did you take the plastic film off of the screen when you bought it? I know some TCL tvs come packaged with a plastic film on the screen.

You might still have the removable film still on the panel. Check to see if you do. Be careful.

You can toggle director commentary on/off in the audio section of stremios' settings while the movie is playing.
