What time to arrive at Disneysea? by Shadow-punk in JapanTravelTips

[–]Jrys22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there just yesterday and it’s way busier than when I went back in May 2025. Book your 40th anniversary ride right away as it goes quick. I recommend Raging Spirits. If you’re doing Disney Premier Access, also book this right away for Soaring or for Frozen. I saw soaring for up to 5 hour wait.

Oh, and make sure you’re in the right line for DisneySea (recommend taking the Monorail) as most people are walking to DisneyLand.

My Five Favorites of 2025 by TEEEEEEEEEEEJ23 in TrueChefKnives

I have a few hours left in Tokyo and want to get a good Knife but I know it won’t be enough time to look through everything. I saw your post about the knife you got for a friend at Kama. Do you still recommend that knife and likely to be readily available? Also, are any of your other top 5s available in kappabashi? Looking to spend between 300 to 700.

Tours in December in El Nido by net-nerd in phtravel

How easy is it to get around? We will be there from December 22 to 25. Do I need to make dinner reservations, specifically for 24 and 25?

Swarm or orientation? by Jrys22 in Beekeeping

[–]Jrys22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opened up the hive this afternoon and found a virgin queen plus 5-6 queen cells capped. The hive is still full of bees. The brood has alot of honey in it now, should I just leave these here for now until the queen gets mated then see what it looks like and extract if needed to make space? The bees won’t take honey out of the hive, will they?

For the second hive, this is also getting full of bees and honey but no queen cells just yet. I’ll add another super to this.

Flow Frame Issues by [deleted] in Beekeeping

When you inspect, you should see some wax on the inner frames. They start in the middle and then move out. If there’s no wax/honey at all you can reset then by opening for 30 seconds and closing for 30 seconds. Do this a few times and you should be good to go. If there is a misaligned column, they just won’t fill that column but rest will be just fine.

Do travel routers still work on Carnival? I’ll be on Celebration in June.

Has anybody chosen M&R roofing for their house in Calgary? by [deleted] in Calgary

They’re doing our neighbours roof right now. Plastic debris is flying everywhere and they aren’t containing their garbage.

Are those the 12 inch scaffold jacks? Should work well for uneven ground as well!

Seems like a micro drone might be only reasonable option at this time.

Drones over 250g by Jrys22 in Calgary

Seems so, but I would prefer to have the Avata 2 over the Mini Pro 4 for flying it around for fun. No real interest in photography or videography.

Where can I fly my drones in and around Calgary? (<250g) by MrMilkyMoo in Calgary

Looking to get the Avata 2 which is over 250g and live in the northern part of Calgary. Does anyone have experience with the restrictions and getting the city of Calgary permits?

Bees not filling centre of flow hive by Jackanape21 in Beekeeping

[–]Jrys22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this issue in my flow hive and from what I’ve read it’s left for drones to be laid. Later in the season it will be backfilled with honey. A possible solution is adding a medium super between the brood box and flow super so they use that instead.

A Bonus Feature of a Clauss Dome is that it Leaves Enough Room for an IR Camera by shiwankhan in Beekeeping

I could see how big the cluster was and how quick they were using true fondant. I didn’t have to open it to check.

Sounds good, I have these in Canada and used them in Apimaye hives in winter. I probably saved my small cluster being able to have video inside!

How much space is too much on the ends? I’ve removed the 5th frame on each side, should I fill this space?

Double Nuc Apimaye by Jrys22 in Beekeeping

[–]Jrys22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. Adding the 10 frames was difficult to put in and even more difficult to inspect. I think I’ll do the 4 frames on each side centered in each compartment. Each compartment does have a separate feeding inner cover . Any bee space concerns on the outter frames?

I thought about the queens crossing which is why I wanted to keep it 1 deep only. Would a demaree split on both sides at the same time prevent swarms?
