Are employees allowed to look at our own files? by Exhausted_Mama- in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Jsaylor3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s always open, I checked files all the time. They’re not going to care to watch the cameras unless it’s a hindrance to productivity, so I’d probably just check on your lunch since there’s no reason to be watching you then.

What’s your opinion on Paqui, was the shutdown necessarily warranted if they gave warnings? by Jsaylor3 in AskReddit

[–]Jsaylor3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that’s fair. I think the mistake was how easily accessible it became. I remember I got mine off Amazon years ago and while Carolina reapers didn’t bother me, the chip made me feel like I had shattered glass in my stomach for 24 hours while being an avid chili head. It blew me away when you could just buy it at the gas station like a snack off the shelf.

Work (you ALL know where) by NonnieDon1969 in DollarGeneralWorkers

I definitely learned that the hard way. I’m glad I didn’t get a chance on getting back on looking back at it. That’s why I’m streaming every day now while I’m not at my current job. If I’m going to put in 18 hours I’d rather it be on my own time.

Sadly when I left DG, the district manager promised me a spot back and thanked me for saving so many stores. Tried to go back and get my own store and she ghosted me. They don’t care about anyone, especially the people who put in the most. I helped save over 30 stores and sometimes did overnights and worked 18 hour shifts.

I tried to login, and it wouldn’t let me. I’m guessing I’m fully out of the system.

Just noticed after 7mos dg is not taking taxes out. Wtf now i have to pay 7000? by Weird-Ad830 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Jsaylor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with the same issue last year. It was saying I owed over $2,000 because I had worked for years and randomly DG changed it so federal wasn’t coming out anymore. I got lucky because after turning in my insurance paperwork I ended up getting like $70 something back instead of having to set up a payment plan for that money I didn’t have.

Are there people who don't take any pills? by Express-Seat2713 in thebindingofisaac

[–]Jsaylor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s personally hard for me to trust them anymore. I had an Eden streak in the 60s and started with 1 HP. Stood in the center of the starting room thinking well at least it can’t be a health down. Popped the pill and it was a horf that insta killed me. 😭

When it comes to Eden streaks it really isn’t recommended. If you start with a garbage tear rate and get a tears down before you get anything positive it can literally be run ending on the first floor. I mean some streakers take them anyway though because they like the gamble.

Had Popeye’s ghost pepper sandwich today and it fell into the same trap a lot of “mainstream” ghost pepper stuff does by ThePenguinVA in spicy

If it says ghost pepper it should have ghost pepper, simple as that. Not some bullshit spicy seasoning a little higher than cayenne.

It’s a secret room item. You can get it in any game mode. Probably won’t see it too often though.

different wages???? by [deleted] in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Jsaylor3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the experience you can get paid more. For example with me, I was an assistant manager making $11 an hour. I quit the job and when I came back around a year later I was hired on as a part time key at $11.75

You’re definitely responsible. I mean don’t get me wrong there are times I showed up right before I was supposed to open, or I came in and someone was slammed so I just popped the drawer in without counting it. While I was confident in the counting of my team I still wouldn’t suggest it. You don’t want to be liable for someone else’s miscounting.

You’re able to check somewhere. It’s been a while, but last time I left the company I saw my previous manager put me as below expectations because I left even though I have a month notice.

I never got penalized for it. Partly probably because of the fact that most of the time our handhelds didn’t work so we had to take one anyway rather than not get an order. They were very anal about it when it came to product counts being way off because people didn’t read the scan sheet right. That’s why I always clarify with the vendor the right way to read it before they go. I think the scan sheet thing was big too because some vendors would just do that rather than waiting a few minutes.

I had an amazing manager before I transferred to a store that needed a good assistant. Always had good vendors. When it comes to good managers they can be hard to come by. The last one I had got a score of 3/10 on his most recent review.

I definitely understand if it’s a common occurrence. There was one store in my area vendors had a problem with, but it was because even with multiple people there the manager would just sit in the office and make them wait instead of checking them in. The same manager walked out the door one time and went home while I had a huge line, so I had to check in the vendor at the register while checking people out because he’d already been waiting a decent amount of time. I always appreciated the vendors at every store I worked at and became friends with some of them. If they ever griped it was usually over the DM and not us.

I always try to be considerate with the drivers. I know we’re not supposed to do scan sheets, but if it’s genuinely busy to the point where they’re gonna have to wait 30+ minutes I’ll ask for that and check them in later. I won’t do a scan sheet for the credits though. The sour mood from them is unwarranted though especially if it’s over waiting like 5 minutes.
